I'm going to be in the city Tuesday and I don't which one I should see. Elf or Chaplin?
Whichever show you want. Take control of your life. Make some big decisions.
Does anybody believe this is real?
No.
Yet my comments keep getting deleted, but the original post always stays. Whatever.
Drood :)
Elf may come back again but this is your last chance for Chaplin.
I finally saw CHAPLIN the other night and thoroughly enjoyed it!
I totally agree with Jordan. Critics (print/media & BWW) missed the boat on this one.
Maybe it's because I saw the first preview (anyone know if major changes were made?) but I thought Chaplin was a complete mess. The only thing I left impressed by was Rob McClure.
I overheard an user telling someone that it changed a lot "since you saw it last" but I have no idea what was changed.
I will say for Chaplin that I thought it was more original than a lot of the shows I've seen lately and I would rather see an ambitious if imperfect show than yet another screen-to-stage adaptation with little or no creativity or inspiration. The opening number was also lovely.

I'd be interested to know how it changed. Rob McClure was great but it was pretty underwhelming overall.
I very much enjoyed Chaplin. There were a lot of structural issues, but I think there's a very good musical hiding underneath all that. Rob McClure alone is worth the price of admission. I don't think I'd go back, but I'm very glad that I saw it.
I didn't like Chaplin as a show, but Rob McClure's performance alone makes it worth while. Of the 2, I'd pick Elf.
I just can't stop thinking about CHAPLIN. I really truly enjoyed it and I'm going to need to see it again before it leaves.
Based on what I read on here I thought it was going to be dreadful but I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. I told some out of town relatives to try to come up to see it before it closes.
