Should I See If/Then Before It Closes

Hey guys just wondering if it's worth seeing If/Then before it closes. Never saw it before but always wanted to see Idina perform in a show.

If your main reason is to see her? Yes. Any other reason? Meh.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I would definitely recommend seeing it. I think both Idina and the show itself are worth seeing.

What Bucky Builder said. And this show in particular was built with Menzel in mind, so all the more reason to see it if you have any remote interest in seeing her. (And I think the show itself is worth seeing too, though not everyone's cup of tea.)

No.

The show fits her like a glove designed for her, because it was. If you enjoy her, you will not be disappointed. The show showcases her strengths. There are wildly diverse opinions of the material at this and other boards, but perhaps we all agree on one thing: it's Menzel's frame, and she fills it admirably. And if you feel at the intermission that you haven't heard enough of her solo work, hang on. She has two songs in act two that are quite powerful, "Learn to Live Without," and her signature 11 o'clock spot, "Always Starting Over." If she's your girl, it's unmissable.

I just saw it for the first time last week and enjoyed it. Definitely see it if you are an Idina fan. I thought the cast was very strong. Glad I finally made it.

Yes. Even if you end up disliking it. You never know when an adaptation could happen (besides the touring) so I think it's pretty cool to say you were able to see this piece of theatre. I'm not a fan of the actual show, but I do like the cast recording. I think it's worth seeing just to hear her sing "Always Starting Over" live!

I'd say see it, but make sure Idina is in. I saw Burns - who was great - but the show itself isn't all that remarkable. It was built for Menzel, so I'd make sure she was there or else you'll just see a ho-hum middle-of-the-road musical. It's not bad. But not really great.

Go. Idina elevates this so-so material. Who knows when she'll be on Broadway again?

The show is good. The supporting cast (James Snyder , LaChanze, Jen Colella, Anthony Rapp) are really strong. The plot line, if you get it, is intriguing. And Idina is a star (and I am NOT a fan). I enjoyed it way more than I expected.

Go if you get the chance. I may go again before closing myself

I have found that there is very little correlation between critics' reviews, the opinions of the people on this board, and my impressions when I see a show. So go see it for yourself. I was pushed into going by someone else, and I liked the show a lot more than I thought I would. Idina was great.

Go see it. Especially if you are an Idina fan. I fell in love with the cast and score. I you will not be disappointed.

Considering that the marquee is your profile pic, you must have some desire to see the show. As the posts suggest above, if you are a fan of Idina, go. You won't know if you actually like the show till you see it. For me, the storyline was meh, but I still enjoy the music. Idina is really wonderful as well.
