Posted: 8/30/11 at 3:31pmI think this is a step forward then. Kind of like how no one is complaining that the upcoming production of Godspell has no middle eastern people playing Jesus and his disciples.

Oh, Phyl!
For what it's worth, when Sebastian LeCause decided to stop dying his hair, the lyric was turned to "with dark hair and a tan".

I don't see why anyone should be freaking out. He looks great. I fully approve and support this decision.

There's a Rocky and Bullwinkle musical? We're talking about The Rocky Horror Show.

Not sure who is supposed to be offended - Rocky Horror fans seem to be the most diverse group and really wouldn't balk. Rocky is supposed to be buff and hot. This guy fits the bill. I've seen/heard Sweet Transvestite sung "I've been making a man with LONG hair and a tan..." Where's the controversy in that?
I'm guessing for some out there the notion of non-traditional casting is still taboo.

Posted: 8/31/11 at 2:08am@FindingNamo Not sure if you're being cheeky/sarcastic or not, but it was a summer stock show. The actor cast as Rocky was right for the part and didn't really need to cut his hair for a line. Being summer stock, the company had 4 shows to do that summer. Oddly, one of the shows was HAIR so Rocky was, eventually, a hippie. :P
