Show Closings

What Broadway musicals (besides Kiss Me Kate) are expected to close on Broadway in the next six months?

Expected or actually announced? Very different answers

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Announced is only Kiss Me Kate (June 30), My Fair Lady (July 7), and Oklahoma (Jan 2020) as far as musicals go.

Expect is subjective of course. But I would predict the following musicals won't make it to 2020: King Kong, The Prom, Be More Chill, Pretty Woman, The Cher Show, Beetlejuice, and maybe Beautiful and Waitress

Tootsie is also not doing all that well- do you think it can make it through summer at the large Marquis Theater grossing 66.7 per cent of potential as it did for this week? I have tickets for October 23.

The National Enquirer? It's not gossip that the show is closing on Sunday, since it was officially announced yesterday.

Santino won a Tony for it and am sure it'll take a while for people to see all the heavy marketing for it. Producers will probably see what the advance is like by 4th of July and make a decision from there. I have a feeling it will make it through the holidays and close early 2020 but who knows?
