I'm always thinking about ways to do different shows. I'm wondering what other people have though of.
A friend of mine has thought of West Side Story with Michael Jackson style cherography. A pet project for me is adapting Disney's Hercules, but by using all classic Greek Theatre technique...Does anyone have ideas of their own?
I would reply, but the last set of revival ideas all got wiped from the board!
I would love a really glamorous and razzle dazzled production of Chicago with larger than life production values and period appropriate costumes.

I had a WSS idea of setting as the gangs being a crips/latin kings-like rivalry.
A Chorus Line in a circus setting.

It has always been my dream to stage, Mack and Mabel, on a huge soundstage with the audience sitting in several movable bleacher-like seating sections. The show would be designed, choreographed and directed as if it were being filmed. The audience would be moved both throughout the space from "location" to "location" as well as set up into many configurations to emulate the different shot lengths (close-up, long shot, etc.).
This "vision" is actually pretty evolved, and I thought one day I'd have a chance to do this, but that was a hundred years ago and it seems my life took a different path.

So, basically the original production? although I wouldn't say it was larger than life, it was period appropriate and had sets and costumes.

I'd still like to see the long rumored revival of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN set in a sex dungeon. Imagine the possibilities are endless.

JC - didn't see your post about the sex dungeon until after I posted. Great minds think alike. But I'd rather see Charlie torturing Lucy with those whips and chains.

Lafayette as Auntie Mame.
My heart just stopped beating for a second. My God, how much fun would that be.
I'd like to take Merrily back to the high school gymnasium.
Or a sex dungeon. One of the two.
