Show help please!!

So I'm planning another day trip to the city on the 29th and I am definitely seeing Jane Lynch in Annie before she goes, however, I'm having trouble deciding on whether I should see Pippin or Kinky Boots for the matinee. I want to see them both eventually, but people seem to be speculating Pippin might be gone by the fall/winter months. Which should I see first?

I would absolutely go see PIPPIN first.

Yikes! Rush report for both of these shows is indicating I should get there by 4:45 am. I'll do that if I have to, but is there any way to get standing room for either show?

There are a few threads already started about SR for Pippin. Apparently, Kinky is selling better, and gives out Standing room a lot easier/earlier in the day. Especially on a saturday, Kinky would be easier to get SR. But things may change with either show, and maybe with the big Tony win, in a few weeks Pippin will be selling SR immediately following rush.

Okay I don't know about standing room but they may be tickets in the rear mezzanine available for Pippin because I don't believe Pippin is selling out and I think Kinky is or is basically sold out. Don't know how much those tickets would cost but I doubt they'd be anything outrageous.

See Pippin with this cast. The show is not going anywhere anytime soon. But the cast may change in September. Find replacements for some of the actors and acrobats might be a challenge (unless they are willing to change some of the staging or tricks they do).

Telecharge indicates $59 tickets are available in the rear mezzanine, which I'd gladly pay, but so far they've all come up on the website as $146.

The rush seats are really not bad. I have seen the show from Mezz and that is the best way to see Everything. ANY where in the mezz is fine. There are no bad seats.

Oh well that's ridiculous. I know it's a small theater but still. If you buy it with telecharge then I guess that's great! I don't know I was just trying to help you maybe get some guarented tickets instead of going to the theater at 4:30 in the morning!

I appreciate your help, Mr. Barrett. I just hate the new telecharge. Do you think if I just went to the box office on the day of the performance I might be able to get something for $59?

Show help please!!

Well it depends. Sometimes shows raise their ticket prices on the day of the show and sometimes they lower them because they are trying to sell them. You may want to call the box office before but to be honest I don't really know. Sometimes it depends on the show.

Good luck reaching the box office-it's rare they are available these days.

Also, I think if you're coming from out of town you might want to purchase the ticket(s) ahead of time. Then you know you have a seat.

Pippin will NOT be gone come fall/winter. As with most successful revivals it's got a good year to year and a half.

However, out of all the show this season, Pippin is by far my favorite.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Both shows are very entertaining and well done, but my favorite of the two is Pippin.

Definitely Pippin! It's so original, and as others have said it's worth seeing this cast.
