It's currently restricted, but I hope the rights to this become available soon. This would be great for smaller community productions. Kids would love it!

It will be restricted for the next year at least. Legally Blonde and Spring Awakening aren't even available yet. But I really do hope those three titles are released soon because they would be great for some schools and professional theaters.

My guess would be that they will wait until the first national tour is over to release the rights. Spring Awakening and Legally Blonde are on their second national tours right now.

It looks like they might finally be releasing the rights to Doctor Dolittle as well. They put up a synopsis with yet another revised song list and the page no longer says that the show is restricted.

@Theatrical100
I agree. Plus, from what I hear the tour isn't bringing in much money.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did a scaled back non equity tour after this tour. I have heard its selling okay, just not great. It could be doing worse. So far they have only done extended engagements. Maybe it will do better when it starts doing the Tues-Sun run. Just a thought.
My hometown is headlining their season with Shrek. It is the main show being advertised on the 2010-2011 season. I find this strange since the season also includes Hair, Billy Elliot, and 9 to 5.

Jeez, I hope our high school's drama teacher doesn't find out about this.

Yep,it isn't great. I heard that they're bot using the revolving sets from broadway. And I'd be suprised if THEY DID a scaled back non eq tour. I doubt they even recouped yet, This is DREAMWORKS THEATRICALS first production, the next being Madagascar live. I hear they invested a lot..
