I just saw Sister Act, and I loved it! But I noticed they were selling the London cast album. Does anyone know if there are plans for a broadway cast recording?
I wish they would, considering the changes made between London and Broadway (and the superiority of the Broadway cast), but it looks highly doubtful. They already have a recording that features the Broadway star, so they probably figure that it isn't worth the expense.

It would be nice if they did (I love how they changed the end of The Life I Never Led). But it costs a lot of money. I think they have to pay the actors something like a week's salary per recording session.

Are there any songs on the cast recording that are not in the current show in NYC?
"Do The Sacred Mass" was cut for Broadway.
also "How I Got the Calling" was replaced with "It's Good to be a Nun" for broadway.
Yup, it's the same exact melody, though. It's just shorter and has new lyrics.

No great loss there!
I love "How I Got The Calling". Sigh.
We've really enjoyed the London recording - it actually has created interest in seeing the show if we can get a NY trip going (and with a soon to be college student wanting to check out NYU - it's very likely).
It won't get recording. There are bigger non-recorded tragedies to lament. No big loss here.
Does anyone know how to rip the audio from performance such as The View, and The Tonys? Or perhaps where to get a "no no" recording? PM me!
