BUMP! Any more news or updates?
I wish there were some Mother Superior rumors.
I wonder if they'll ever announce whether Beane has officially taken over as book writer or not.

In addition to Miller, Mindelle, and Bolt, Fred Applegate is playing Monsignor Howard.
He certianly looks the part Out of curiosty, where did you find this info?
Could this be the show Angela Lansbury plans to return to Broadway with? I could definietely see her as Mother Superior. Anyone know about Mary Lazarus?
I am praying (lol) that Lansbury will be Mother Superior. But she has 2 movies in the works. So I'm getting a little doubtful.
The somewhat obvious choice for Mary Lazarus is Jackie Hoffman.

Though Hoffman may be the obvious choice, she'd still be a great one. You know that even if the book/the lines she is given to say are atrocious, she will make up something else that is hilarious instead.
Given the somewhat rocky relationship Hoffman had with Jerry Zaks during THE ADDAMS FAMILY, I wouldn't place your bets on her having anything to do with SISTER ACT. She's also a little young for Mary Lazarus, even though they could certainly age her with make-up.
Personally, I think someone like Phyllis Somerville would be much more appropriate casting for the role.
I'd love to see Jackie play Mary Lazarus but am too doubtful although I never knew of this ROCKY relationship with Jerry Zaks.
Does anyone know if Chris Jackson is in this? I know he auditioned.
They also have new artwork for Broadway (can be found on offical site, picture is to big to post on BWW me thinks)
As exciting as it is to fantasize about Angie being in this (and as much as I want it to happen), we should probably resign ourselves to the fact that it's going to be someone like Carole Shelley, who will be fine, but is nowhere near as exciting or thrilling as Angie would be.

I've heard that Becky gulsvig is rumored for one of the Nuns, sister Mary Robbert? but would anyone like to explain the Rocky relationship between Zaks and Hoffman?
Marla Mindelle is playing Sister Mary Robert.
I don't think there's really much of an explanation needed about Hoffman and Zaks. In fact, if you watch many of her early Broadway.com video blogs, Hoffman doesn't shy away from the subject herself. She was very adamant about pushing the envelope as much as she could on stage, and he was equally as adamant about reigning her in, which caused tension between the two.
Yeah, Mindelle already has the part on her online resume. So that's a done deal.
Ahh, was hoping for someone more exciting for Mary Roberts. I liked the Anneliese Van der Pol suggestions.
Lansbury would be devine in this, as would Blythe Danner. Doubt either one would take it.

More exciting than Marla Mindelle? You must be losing your mind. Besides, Anneliese could NEVER belt a high A.
I doubt many people could but Kate Shindle would be amazing at whatever A was thrown at her. It is sad that she already attached to Wonderland or else she could be hitting A's in Sister Act(and going back to business as usual).
Kate Shindle is pushing 6 ft. Mary Robert is a mousy little girl.

I think Marla Mindelle is a brilliant choice.
There's no way I'd believe Kate Shindle as a nun.

Yes, Marla got me so much more excited for this. She is fantastic. But hey that's me. I just love the thought of her singing "The Life I Never Led". Within the context of that song, I could see Anneliese doing a nice job, but that is the extent of my knowledge of the character. When does she belt a high A?

I like the idea of Carole Shelley. If they decided to go younger for whatever reason I'd like to see Haydn Gwynne play the part.

I thought she would have been able to belt a high A after watching her sing this:
