No, its further north, up past San Francisco and inland a few hundred miles.
Its often referred to as 'the poor mans Vegas'!
It's still in Nevada tho, just.

Reno was also the infamous destination for women to get divorces from their husbands in the 20s-40s. This was famously illustrated in the 1939 film, The Women.

I'm hoping to be there on Thursday. I'm supposed to be going to New York on Friday and am awaiting confirmation on that, if not, it will be Friday as I have tickets for that night already.
Bob and I are suppose to be meeting for a sherry in Times Square on Saturday afternoon!
The lights on Broadway will be a little brighter as we chink glasses!

Damn right! And after checking into "Reno" whilst watching Sister Act, then taking in shows in New York, I am actually flying from Newark to Las Vegas to round off my trip. So, in one sense I will be beginning and ending my vacation in Nevada. lol

While in Vegas, I would highly recommend tickets to see Le Reve at the Wynn. One of the best shows I've ever seen (We liked it better than O). My partner and I are going back to see it again in August. Some great hotel deals for Vegas right now. We got a suite at the Encore (Wynn's new tower) for $119/night. Plus, a trip to NYC in July.

Thank you Mr Matt, Bob and Mama for the Reno facts. I've heard references to the city in songs and musicals but never quite understood them. I guess the divorce notoriety possibly explains why the lead character in Anything Goes shares the name, and also illustrates Follies' Carlotta singing "I've been to Reno,...".

Bless you my child! It opens tomorrow, and you'll see them then! then go and see them after the press night, cos it'll probably have changed by then too!
