Adorable! So much fun!

Heard that for the Boston run you aren’t allowed to film the MEGASIX. Anyone know how true this is?

True.  The ushers were announcing that no filming was allowed.  I didn't SEE any phones out.

This is one show that I have not heard one bad thing about from anyone I know. All my friends and acquaintances that have seen it have all had very positive reactions. I'm very excited to see this on Broadway.

WHAT?  That is part of the reason for popularity.  So Cleves doesnt say “Get your phones out. You’re gonna want to film thus!”?  I must ask on their twitter.  Maybe its just for previews....

Their twitter says they have not received union approval for megasix to be filmed. Why would Boston be different from Chicago? ART has requested union permission, so maybe soon?

What is the age appropriateness of this show? Hoping to bring my niece in Boston but she’s 13 so was wondering if it’s OK for her?
#12

Six at the ART

It’s absolutely perfect for a girl that age.

I was at the matinee and was told it was due to the band's union - maybe different musicians?

So heres a question...if theres already been dozens (hundreds?) of videos taken, why do people still want or need another?

I just want to be in the moment, not worry about eatching thri my 4 inch screen

They want their own copy. And it's possible to film without having to dwell on your device, if you've had enough practice. But do your thing!

Have to agree here. Technology is great but we have a tendency to use it as a proxy for a collective experience and a shared memory.

Totally agree. Saw it at ART last Friday. Crazy fun and positive show.

Saw it today and like everyone said, so much fun.

Now . . . . the rest . . . of the story

It's 70 minutes.  Not 75 (as advertised), but 70.  David Mamet would be proud.

It's very high energy.  Lots of the crowd seemed pretty familiar with the show and the crowd was quite into it.

It's not very deep.  Don't go looking for deep meaning

The lyrics were often hard to understand, the singers need to be better miked to be heard over the tight band

Abby Mueller can't dance compared to the rest of the cast.  They did make fun of that later in the show which made me glad as I was afraid I was the only one who noticed

I think this will compete nicely with M. Rouge in NYC for the young female audience.  I just wish they could figure out a way to add 20 minutess to the show.

It needs a bigger stage than they are give in Cambridge

^I agree with a lot of that... particularly about Mueller and the audience. I only found the lyrics occasionally hard to follow.

Question- If I book a 6 PM show on a Thursday- and it is only 70 or so minutes long- do I have time to book a 7:30 show on the same night- would love to do a double header- but I guess it would have to be something close to the ART theater- any suggestions if tis is even a possibility? Going to London soon and would love to book 2 shows for a Thursday.

I don't think there is anything else close enough to qualify.

There is some sexual innuendo, a few moments  about sex things that i was a little surprised about...but nothing worse than pg/pg 13. So unless the family has any objections.... most of them might fly over her head due to the pacing.

Are we fairly certain this will be the cast to come to Broadway in the spring?
#24

Matinee yesterday started at 2:10pm, give or take 2 minutes, so 7:30 dinner res might be tough as it is a slow emptying theater.

Btw, the preshow music is quite good, but subtle

I have no idea what contracts the actors have but Brittney Mack spoke like she was signed for Broadway if Broadway happened, before Broadway was even announced. Samantha Pauly was the first Howard in Chicago but is performing Evita in London through September. She may be rejoining just as Adrianna Hicks has rejoined in Boston.
