Sometimes I want to kill off "As Long As You're Mine" from Wicked. Sometimes..... .. ..
I wouldn't mind if "Day Off" was cut from Sunday in the Park with George.

Almost anything from Phantom of the Opera, I feel that most of that show could be cut and you would have the same plot.
When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere

I second "So What?" in Cabaret. It has such wonderful music, but this song slows it down and isn't necessary to the plot.

You can't snip "The Day Off"!

Sorry, I'm just a little blind when it comes to Sunday in the Park With George. And that's an 8-minute song, with a whole lot of exposition to replace if you get rid of it.

It's not bad - nothing in that show is "bad." I just think it's the weakest song in the show.

actually, the weekest song in the show as always been "Meeskite"... that's why they cut it... but why "Don't Go" and "Why Should I Wake Up" are rarely used is beyond me....

So What, sung by the great Regina Resnik in the 1988 revival, is one of the most poignant moments in the theater. Perhaps no one since has sung it with the same passion and beauty, otherwise it wouldn't be on this list.

You're probably right. I'm going based on what I saw.

And how could I forget Everybody's Girl from STEEL PIER - a base, intelligence-insulting piece (which for some reason everyone in the world but me LOVED).

"A Sentimental Man" from Wicked

The problem with Lonely Room is that it is an important character development piece for understanding Jud. It's less boring to me, than it is an discomforting piece...

That's true. But they could have made it more interesting with tap dancing.

Uh-oh.... Me and My Baby is a great little number, in my opinion. What don't you like about it?

I'm not sure what it is but "Thank Goodness" gets on my last nerve from Wicked. I'm often tempted to come in late to Act II because of it.
I could also do without "We're Okay" from Rent.

jonartdesign: Oh, that's totally understandable... I was looking at the number from the viewpoint of how the choreography meshes perfectly with the song itself. I wonder if you'd like it better if you heard Ruthie Henshall do it on the London recording...?
