I have to agree with "Someone is Waiting"... it's the musical theatre equivalent of Mambo # 5...
Sometimes I want to kill off "As Long As You're Mine" from Wicked. Sometimes..... .. ..
I wouldn't mind if "Day Off" was cut from Sunday in the Park with George.
Almost anything from Phantom of the Opera, I feel that most of that show could be cut and you would have the same plot.
I second "So What?" in Cabaret. It has such wonderful music, but this song slows it down and isn't necessary to the plot.

You can't snip "The Day Off"!
*cries*
Sorry, I'm just a little blind when it comes to Sunday in the Park With George. And that's an 8-minute song, with a whole lot of exposition to replace if you get rid of it.
I'd like to say that I like "So What" from CABARET... it's not that bad. spread the love people...
It's not bad - nothing in that show is "bad." I just think it's the weakest song in the show.
actually, the weekest song in the show as always been "Meeskite"... that's why they cut it... but why "Don't Go" and "Why Should I Wake Up" are rarely used is beyond me.... Updated On: 8/23/04 at 11:45 PM
So What, sung by the great Regina Resnik in the 1988 revival, is one of the most poignant moments in the theater. Perhaps no one since has sung it with the same passion and beauty, otherwise it wouldn't be on this list.
You're probably right. I'm going based on what I saw.
And how could I forget Everybody's Girl from STEEL PIER - a base, intelligence-insulting piece (which for some reason everyone in the world but me LOVED).
"Lonely Room" from Oklahoma! - the most boring in the show
"A Sentimental Man" from Wicked
"So What" from Cabaret
The problem with Lonely Room is that it is an important character development piece for understanding Jud. It's less boring to me, than it is an discomforting piece...

That's true. But they could have made it more interesting with tap dancing.
mama look sharp- 1776
me and my baby- chicago
cinderella darling- how to succeed (thankfully cut from the revival)
conversation piece- wonderful town
the first reprise of the title song- thoroughly modern millie
your eyes- rent
something bad- wicked
mix tape-ave q
good morning baltimore (reprise)- hairspray
"Now I have Everything" from Fiddler. Hate it.
Uh-oh.... Me and My Baby is a great little number, in my opinion. What don't you like about it?
"That's true. But they could have made it more interesting with tap dancing."
Images of Jud's nudie pics on his walls, coming to life and tap dancing...
I'm not sure what it is but "Thank Goodness" gets on my last nerve from Wicked. I'm often tempted to come in late to Act II because of it.
I could also do without "We're Okay" from Rent.
kissmycookie- i've only heard the soundtrack version and it may just have to do with the fact that i cannot tolerate ann reinking's voice
jonartdesign: Oh, that's totally understandable... I was looking at the number from the viewpoint of how the choreography meshes perfectly with the song itself. I wonder if you'd like it better if you heard Ruthie Henshall do it on the London recording...?
Little lamb- Gypsy
i'll give it a try- after all i'm directing a local production of the show and need to stage that eventually
