"So What?" from Cabaret. In a great musical, I feel like it's a weak song. It never did anything for me, and the show could do without it.

Well, you don't mess with perfection. Nothing could ever be cut from SWEENEY TODD.
But I would like to get rid of 'Someone is Waiting' from COMPANY

I may get my head chopped off for this but I would cut "I Know Where Ive Been" from Hairspray. (that or I would speed up the tempo so the show didnt STOP dead in its tracks at that point)

"Bless the Lord" from Godspell. The song makes me want to throw my cd player at the wall.
I have my books and my poetry to protect me...

"Someone is Waiting" isn't my favorite song, but it is necessary to elucidate Bobby's state of mind. He doesn't know what he wants in relationships, and isn't ready for a real-life girlfriend, so he idealizes an almalgam of all his female friends. I would replace or edit it rather than cut it.
For some strange reason, I don't like "Ah, Paris!" from Follies. That could be cut, right? (Feel free to correct me, Priest...the plot of that show isn't exactly clear in the OBC.)

Oh NO you didn't, StickToPriest,
"Someone Is Waiting" is an absolutely brilliant lyric from Sondheim and cuts to the core of what the character of Bobby and the entire show is all about (talk to me about it in about ten years -- I mean no offense, honey -- that lyric may speak to you in ways you cannot possibly imagine at you age, sweetheart).

There are some obvious ones (i.e. "My Name" from Oliver) but I would cut "Surabaya Santa" from Songs for a New World.

"Ah, Paris" is needed because it goes together with "Rain on the Roof" and "Broadway Baby" musically. It would be difficult to cut.
And I know that 'Someone is Waiting' is necessary to the story. But I've never warmed to it. Plus, I've really never heard a great rendetion of it.
EDIT: And Margo, I adore the lyrics.
It is the music of the song which I find myself not liking.

well, songs have been cut from SWEENEY in the past... Judge Turpin's "Joanna", the toothpulling sequence, "Parlor Songs" and the original didn't even have the "Beggar Woman's Lullaby" and that too is sometimes cut... not everyone has faith in the material which is a shame....

More I Cannot Wish You - from "Guys and Dolls." I know it's supposed to be a tender moment, but I can't stand it...

"Heart full of love" from Les Mis. Where thid sappy song come from in such a great show?
"In Old Bavaria" from the Producers Yes it's funny and great for Franz, but I think the show could do without it.

Another Suitcase in Another Hall from EVITA. It's an okay song, but it brings the show to a grinding halt.
Germans at the Spa from NINE. Thank goodness the revival cut it.
A Little Bit of Good from CHICAGO. Unless you have an exceptionally talented actor, the audience just sits there going "huh? why is this man singing like a woman?".

"Another Suitcase in Another Hall" is actually my favorite song in Evita. But then, I think the rest of the show is a mess, so don't trust me. :)

No one shoot me, but I Am Changing from Dreamgirls needs to go. Yes I realize that Effie needs more of a presence in Act 2, and it shows her progress yadda yadda, that doesnt mean its not boring.
Oh and if you cut all the songs (and all the children) from Annie except for Easy Street, Id be happy.

I'm Not Wearing Any Underwear Today - Avenue Q. I've yet to find this song amusing and/or its purpose (no pun intended) in the show.
