You're kidding right...? Did you see the reviews?

Yes, but...all shows deserve a chance, and this one extended for a week.
I don't think that wanting to see this show just to make fun of it because it's so bad makes me a bad person.

Yes, I saw the reviews but as blaxx said it still extended a week and this would not be the first show to get panned out of town but still move to Broadway.

I asked this question when the show started getting bad reviews in San Diego and was told producers had already had the show locked in for Broadway.
Is that wrong?

Bottom line, no producer can deny me this sort of entertainment...please!
In fact, if Spider-Man doesn't open, they could take the Hilton.
Just think about it.

Or, what a far out thought, they might be taking this time to take the reviews in consideration and work on some rewrites and restaging before bringing it in....

I would love to see this make it to broadway as seeing 9 to 5 didn't make it very welly. 9 to 5 was a hit in LA, and a bust in NYC, so maybe it will be the opposite for this show..hmm just a thought.

I think people are finally learning that (with the exception of shows with HUGE stars), they can see these same stories on TBS anytime they want for free.

What's interesting is that there were no producer credits listed in the Old Globe program, but on the official site (www.fwcthemusical.com) there are bios and contact information for those involved. Maybe if we all throw a few dollars in the till we can buy them a night or two in New York?
I'm sure the Old Globe run cost at least a million or two (pure speculation), and the additional money required to advertise and put up the show on Broadway would probably double or triple that amount on a good day. Despite the extension in San Diego, something tells me we won't be seeing the Wives anytime soon.

Well, for Christ's sake, license "You Don't Own Me" and put it in already. I mean jeez, Sister Act already cut the Motown this season, let's not lose another classic moment.

I used to work at a theatre that ALWAYS "extended" its runs. In fact, the "extension" was planned and built into the season all along. It was just a "marketing ploy" to make it look like the show was so well-received they HAD TO give people another chance to catch it. I'm not saying that the Old Globe does this or that they did it just for "First Wives Club." Just pointing out that an "extension" doesn't mean the show is any good.

I just found out that the character of Phoebe is spelled Feebee in the stage version.
Is it bad that I think that it wasn't intentional, and that they just didn't know how to spell it?

Phyllis - MILD SPOILER:
The character of Bill, Elyse's (Sheryl Lee Ralph) husband, is shacking up with a much younger singer he's just signed to their record label. He wants to make her a one-named star "like Cher or Madonna" so comes up with the name Feebee. The misspelling is intentional on his part and the audience is supposed to find this funny. As such, Feebee's first line upon entering is: "Bill, baby, how do you spell my first name?"

If they were to bring it to Broadway, it would need alot of retooling.

A different cast, a different director, a differtent designer, a different book might make it worth while. Otherweise - let it die already.

Major bump, but Variety.com interviewed Francesca Zambello and after reading the article it does NOT say this is one of her upcoming projects.

I even forgot this show happened in the first place. It needs to go away.
