How else could the man be shepherding American Idiot to its very pressing opening night while also putting Everyday Rapture into a Broadway theatre? American Idiot opens the day after Everyday Rapture starts previews. Then that show opens 10 days later.
The guy better win a Tony for sheer willpower. Or for directing American Idiot. That'd be OK too.

I get the feeling he was over at American Idiot during its early previews and absent from early rehearsals of Everyday Rapture. He is noticeably absent from the rehearsal photos. I overheard Dick Scanlan saying that he has recently been at rehearsals as American Idiot is now pretty much frozen. Everyday Rapture is done rehearsing and is now (or going to be as of tomorrow) in tech.
Monday/Tuesday has got to be the most thrilling 48 hours of his life. He has one Broadway show beginning previews and another opening!

@ CATSNYRevival : Making fun of someone's looks isn't really funny. Michael Mayer is a handsome man. Some people on this board are so quick to put down someone else's looks. I would love it for once if the poster who dares to do this had the b@lls to post a picture of themselves next to the person they are putting down for fair comparison.
It was just a joke. Don't get me wrong, he's kinda cute. But he's not a greek god.
Okay. But I think the Greek God reference was towards Mayer's abilities in juggling two shows that are virtually opening back to back, not his looks.
But then I happen to think that everyone has a little "Greek God" in them. Everyone is beautiful in their special way, even you CATSNYRevival. :)
Hence the joke part. I guess it wasn't very funny if I have to explain it. I apologize.
I thought it was funny.
It didn't hit me until this post that he was doing both of these! He'll sleep well....some day!
Good for him!
So exciting for him. Even though he's probably not getting any sleep whatsoever, he's probably so proud that both of his babies are opening on Broadway. It's a great time for him, or at least on paper it is.

I thought it was funny, too.
I think there are a lot of people who hate anything they find "negative." They would probably hurl bottles at Don Rickles if they attended his act.
Problem is, they try to tell everyone else what they're permitted to find funny...
