They buried the hatchet, so would it be possible for a reunion concert next year? With MILLIE and RAGTIME happening, they’re back “in style” now..

God I hope so. I'd pay whatever I needed to hear Patti sing the score again.

Obviously this would have to include Patti and Mandy who are in splendid voice.
But what of the other cast? - Bob Gunton, Jane Ohringer (mistress) and Mark Syers (Magaldi). Haven't heard from them in a long time...

I would fly up and pay whatever I needed to pay to see it if they got Patti and Mandy to do it. It would be nice if some of the other OBC were involved as well. Though Bob Gunton has to be almost 80 by now...would he be interested in this? Is he still working? I haven't heard from him in quite awhile.

I’m sure this is being discussed this week. The opportunity to bring the entire original American Premiere cast of EVITA is possible now. After Patti’s fantastic Grammy Awards performance, things are rolling (partial pun most definitely intended).

Mark Syers unfortunately died in 1983. Bob Gunton is 72 (only four years older than LuPone), and is flush with that sweet sweet Shawshank Redemption residuals cash.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Bob Gunton works regularly in film and TV. He had a fairly significant role in DAREDEVIL Season 1

I didn't realize Mary Syers had passed. Apparently he was killed in a car accident when he was just 30 years old. Tragic. Here is his obituary.

Sal Mistratta who was Syers understudy as Magaldi still works regularly, so it would make sense that he would replace for any kind of reunion concert.

Yes, a person can dream. Patti will doing Company in London in August so not sure if the current time frame would allow this. Add in Mandy's schedule and it appears nearly impossible for this year at least. Not sure when rehearsals for Company start.

First off, this is just wishful talk. Plus, we're not talking about this taking place within the next 2 weeks. Also, we're talking about a concert - not a full-scale revival with a limited run of 12 weeks. Its a one-night concert we're wishful discussing.

Although, if one did want to discuss a full-scale revival, Hal is trying really hard to convince Webber to let him bring his classic production (currently touring) back to Broadway in the fall; Patti at least would be done with Company by then...

I find it ludicrous for LuPone at her age to reprise the role in a revival. A one-night concert is fully justifiable as she gets to act and sing the role within a constraint plus she’s already stated WAR PAINT was her last headlining musical. She’s done carrying a show.

She originally said it was her last musical, period. She always added the caveat that, as a woman, she reserved the right to change her mind. Her “retirement” from musicals lasted all of several weeks, when she got an offer for Company. I expect she’ll continue to do musicals as long as she’s given parts she wants to play. I’m sure the allure of Joanne was too much to pass up, and I’m sure if it’s successful in London we’ll see the production cross the pond.

Don't remember where, but at one point during WAR PAINT she said she didn't want to start playing supporting roles that were women-past-a-certain-age--she DID want to keep playing lead roles, but it was hard to find roles that suit her skill set and age range. (Which led me to think 'well, I guess we'll never see her do Madame Armfeldt...'
I guess COMPANY is an exception to that.

Exactly. The point was she was having such a good time she didn’t want to settle for anything less.
