Wicked would do great business touring and could easily sell out a three month run in Manchester but I don't think it will tour just yet.

Dirty Dancing I could see touring and I think it's a show that could do week or two long runs and sell out plus I think the set were designed to be toured anyway.

I'm going to hedge my bets and say it will be The Lion King that is the mega musical to tour.

It's definitely not Dirty Dancing. Eleanor Bergstein said in an interview last week that a European tour would probably be the next step for the show but nothing has been planned.

Why Rock of Ages? Actually, I think a touring production's got a pretty big audience over here. Drunkards, slags, simpletons etc.

Sure am :), but to be fair i've worked out how to fit 11 shows into my timetable, and I just really fancy the look of it. Plus there are only 6 musicals left I need to see on Broadway - ROA, 9 to 5, Shrek, In the heights, Next to Normal and Hair.

I'll throw a vote in for Lion King too.

Way too early for 'Wicked' yet, it's still regarded as the 'must-see' show in London.

lol i 'acquired' the show for moi to watch in the comfort of my own home - and i just didn't get it either!

i'll put out my feelers about the big tour for next year - i'll text a few friends..

if its sitting down its got to have a complex set design - my initial thoughts would be Miss Saigon (its been a while) big set and was at the palace or The Lion King..

i'll get back to you!

I never said it was bad!
It just doest deserve the praise people are pouring on it!
There are only 2 or 3 on here who have actually seen it live and it doesnt enhance the experience at all.
I wish i could get that Saturday afternoon in New York back!

N2N is certainly not your Hairspray feel good musical, but that's not saying it is not very good it is!!!!

I heard a rumour a few weeks ago that something pretty big is going down on tour next year, but have held off from making a comment as I wanted to see what everyone else has guessed and everyone has been miles off. I could not substantiate what I heard, but now SADM2 has broken the ice, I can now reveal the show, is desperate seeking Susan!

Maybe they could run it in Rep with Drowsy and Spring Awakening and call it "The Novello Flop Reunion".
