Sad to hear but not unexpected .Deserved a much longer run
I'm sure the tour will have a long and healthy run.

22 months is good run.
A lot of new shows crash and burn within 3 months. This one actually found an audience.
Did it recoup? I don't remember an announcement.
And does this mean St James is going to be closed for construction till Frozen takes it over a year later? That's a shame. It's too beautiful a space to waste at the peak time of the year.
Havn't seen the show but all their Art Work has been SENSATIONAL.
Congrats.to everyone and a long, happy healthy life to all things Rotten.

The same thing happened to Mary Poppins for Aladdin.
This has been known since FROZEN booked the St. James. Unless ROTTEN saw a big increase in their advance, it was closing on Jan. 1.

I loved this show and I think it had a great run for a show that doesn't really have source material or built-in awareness. I think it will be a hit touring show and have a very long life in regional and amateur productions
Saw it in June with most of the original cast (only missed Brian D) and loved it. So funny and really talented actors. So glad I saw it when I could.
P.S. was going to ask if the closing was related to the cast change, but then I see the posts above about the theatre itself.
Very sad to see it close also, saw it and really had a good time. The original cast was great and I hope it does well touring.
