For anyone following this show:
According to the other board, Sondheim has JUST finished a brand new song for the show. It will be added in during the next couple days (could be as early as tonight's performance). It's a song for Addy and Wilson during the Alaska section.
Sounds pretty exciting, it's brand new.
I really hope they record this production.
But in the meantime...
YAY! YAY! YAY!
Sweet.
With a name like Sondheim, it has to be Mother%$#&$%@' Good
Will this get recorded? I would LOVE one.
Any new news and/or assumptions as to whether this one'll make the big move? Certainly, reactions have been ... well, 'mixed' thus far, but it *is* a Sondheim -- To me, that automatically means "I'm backing a transfer"

Excellent, I look forward to hearing it!
Good! Glad to hear this...they definitely needed to flesh out the first half of the show and this is a step in the right direction. Hope the song is great.
I'm glad I'm going Friday night so I can hear this new song!
Looking forward to hearing how the new song works. I remain conflicted about making the trip to see the show since I didn't enjoy Bounce that much, but I do hope there's a recording. That, I'll definitely get.
Alright!!!!!

I guess I"l be going back right before it opens.
I am seeing this right at the end of the run...cannot wait!!
Just back from the matinee:
First off, really liked the show. Still think it needs a bit of tweaking as the early segment doesn't flow as well as the New York/Florida stuff does. Thought the cast was stellar and liked Doyle's direction. And the music- no complaints from me!
Now for the new song (since I was new to the whole piece, I had to ask Michael Cerveris afterwards which was the new song)- it's between Addy and Wilson as was posted. Takes place while they share a sleeping bag in AK.
Personally, I thought it really worked well with the piece- not sure how much detail people want, but it really grounds their relationship as brothers. It showcases that Wilson really looked out for Addy, really loved him, and that their relationship used to be strong and connected. Makes the audience realize why Addy seems to be unable to say no to Wilson later on.
I really hope this gets recorded....
I also just came back from the same matinee and I agree with JeaniusIsMe. I have to ask..the new song was in this showing? I really liked the show, too. The direction showcased the entire cast.
They better record this BEFORE any decision to transfer it Broadway or not.
I have to see this show again in order to appreciate and remember it better lol
Yup, the new song is in. Michael Cerveris said they put it in last night- it's the one about watching the fireworks on the roof of their house and falling asleep there and getting yelled at by their mother in the morning. A really good piece for building the past relationship between Addy and Wilson before they go their separate ways.
I haven't seen Road Show yet. I'm seeing it later this week. However, judging from the score of Bounce, this new song seems to be just what the show needs. I hope it brings the whole thing together the way "Being Alive" did for Company, "I'm Still Here" did for Follies and "Children and Art" did for Sunday in the Park.
I don't know if it brings the whole thing together, but it gives the audience a reason for Addy not simply telling Wilson to get out and stay out every time he messes things up. Without it I would have been wondering why Addy was so willing to stick with his brother after getting repeatedly burned by him. But seeing that Wilson looked out for Addy and protected him in the past gives you that motivation for Addy's actions.
But I'm really eager to hear what people who are more familiar with the show's genesis than me think about it.

It's a Sondheim score with lot's of changes. It will get recorded.
"Lot's?" Seriously?
