I was on the Public's site and saw this. I don't think this has been posted yet.
Road Show will be performed without an intermission. Running time appx. 120 minutes.

I am slightly surprised, and wonder how it will play as one act. It's coming soon, I cannot wait to see how this revised version turns out.
Two hours with no intermission? All the old folks better make sure they pee before the show!

WHOA! This is so SOON! I had honestly completely and totally forgot about this show. Ooh, now I have something else to look forward to this month.
I only hope it has improved. I would think twice before spending money on that show again.
The cast recording of "Bounce" is pretty bad, and I think "Road Show" is a terrible new title (they should have just stuck with the original, "Wise Guys"). But I'm trying to be optimistic.
I'm also going to give the new version a try. But I certainly agree- Road Show isn't the best title....
i like GOLD as a title. And there's already a Jones & Schmidt ROAD SHOW (i think). But since i never got a chance to see this live in any of the incarnations, i'm going to try and make this one.
SONDHEIM + DOYLE + CERVERIS + $25 STUDENT TIX = SOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!
I cannot wait, OMG.

Having seen it in D.C. I'm looking forward to it. Thought it was not the best Sondheim it still was miles better than a lot of the crap that comes to N.Y. TALENT , YOU and BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED were wonderful numbers. It's Sondheim so in my opinion it's worth the price of a ticket.

SO much good theatre is coming up. Damn.
i would have loved to have seen it with Nathan Lane, though i think he only ever did a workshop. He was really terrific in FROGS...still Nathan, but connected to the Sondheim take too.
I did do a search and didn't find anything, hence my following question which may be a little off-topic from the original intent of the thread.
Having never been to the Public before, how rough to do you think it will be to get tickets to this being that members had first crack. I am planning on getting online as soon as they go onsale for tickets to the matinee on 11/1. Is this a fruitless endeavor or should I just go ahead and get tickets to Billy Elliot (the 11/1 matinee is the only opening in my weekend trip up there)?

Couldn't have said it better myself!
Actually, IMHO, BOUNCE is the best name of the 3. WISE GUYS reminds me of that movie with Danny DeVito and Joe Piscopo. ROADSHOW reminds me of "Antiques Roadshow" and is just a plain dull title.
I'm not saying that BOUNCE is THE best name they could have come up with -- considering there is an INFINITE number of titles possible -- but at least it has a little oomph. (Not that it has anything to do with show!)
Am I imagining this or was it called GOLD or something like that once?
ROAD SHOW does the best job of portraying what the show is about. BOUNCE, GOLD, AND WISE GUYS said very little about what the show is about. I think ROAD SHOW is a much more exciting title than the others.

Would you guys liked it better if it was titled "Road Show! The Musical" ?
I don't see how ROAD SHOW tells you anything about the plot. WISE GUYS did a better job of that and BOUNCE was the most exciting.
The shows theme has changed it seems. This is what Sondheim has said about the new title.
For one thing, Bounce's title tune was dropped in the revisions. "The song 'Bounce' is no longer in the show, but the tune is," the composer clarified. "It's slightly amended, and it has different lyrics. I utilized the tune with some variations and a new lyric."
For another thing, the show is no longer about the commodity that inspired the song in the first place — resilience. The musical is now more strongly focused to be about the different roads in life taken by Addison and Wilson Mizner — the first an architect, the second a conman. Good old-fashioned American get-up-and-go kept them tearing through the cultural history of this country for half a century until their deaths (within two months of each other) in 1933.
If an audience comes to a show called Bounce, and that's not what it's about and there's no song called 'Bounce,' it seems to me extremely misleading. That's why we're calling it Road Show — and there won't be a title tune. It describes to an audience what they're going to see. It also suggests the loose structure of the piece."

I'm sorry, but they couldn't think of anything better than those four titles? Sondheim is one of the greatest creative minds of the last 50+ years! Come on!
I also love how he says it's somehow misleading if an audience comes to a show called Bounce, and there's no song called "Bounce" and then goes on to say that Road Show will not have a title tune. WTF???
I can't wait to see this in December. I;m sure that some tickets will be sold to the general public but it's a short run (currently) and a small theater, so I opted for a subscription.
I'm curious what songs from Bounce will make it to Road Show.
don't the brothers end up trying to sell Florida real estate? since i grew up there, it'd be cool if there was a title reference to that state (can't think of another show that has one), but i also can't think of a catchy phrase for that era/trend....you occasionally still hear "i've got some land in Florida" in the sense of "i've got a bridge to sell you" (meaning you are easily duped). But that ain't no catchy title.
I am so curious what the final song list will be.
They must have JUST made some recent cuts. The show is now 105 minutes.
Road Show will be performed without an intermission. Running time appx. 105 minutes. Warning: Haze will be used in this production.
