Song lyrics where you were WAY off

I thought "Seven days at sea can make your hungry for a poke." was "Seven days at sea can make you hungry for a bloke." which made perfect sense to me. I didn't know it was poke until I was in the show and saw the script.

In spelling bee where Leaf goes "nipithapa" I always thought it was "remember the pun" which made no sense to me. And I also recently found out that during 'Touch Me' in Spring Awakening the lyrics is "love me just for a bit" I always thought it was "love me just for a minute."

Oh man, I've had PLENTY of these moments, but the one that sticks out is from "Cry Me A River" from Swing. I could have SWORN for the longest time that it was "You told me love was too fluffy and..." insead of "You told me love was too plebeian".

I know a lot of ones from Rent are infamous, but as far as I'm concerned, this one's original.

So...i was relatively young when I was first introduced to Rent, probably like 11 (soon after it opened). Anywho...I was convinced that "where this chick'll dance in the flames" was "where this 'jiggle dance' in the flames." While I know it doesn't make grammatical sense that way, it made perfect sense to my 11-year old mind. I mean, she is doing a "jiggle dance."

BrodyFosse- I also had a lyric mishap with "Ain't No Party". What is actually "I'm sitting there wishing I had some ambition, to get me through, there wasn't always you." I thought was "I'm sitting there wishing you weren't home fishin'. So let me through, it isn't always blue." Keep in mind, I was about ten when I first heard this lyric, and it's VERY hard to understand Loretta the first time.

Spring Awakening:
For some reason I thought in "And Then There Were None" it was "You wanna life that's too absurd", but it's "You wanna laugh that's too absurd."

Jersey Boys:
I'm still not sure about this but in "Cry For Me", I thought the lines that JLY, Christian, and Bobby says was "Don't Go Baby", but then I bought the vocal book and it says "Don't, Don't Baby", but I'm not sure about it cause sometimes it sounds like "Don't Don't Baby" and others it sounds like "Don't Go Baby".

In "Walk Like A Man" I thought the line was "My own father is a giver....", but then I read the vocal book and lyrics and found it to be "My own father, he said give her up don't bother."
