"Goodnight" from Piece "I'd Give My Life For You" from Miss Saigon "For Good" from Wicked "Real Life" from Tick, Tick...Boom! "Will I?" from Rent. "How Glory Goes" "The Next Ten Minutes" from The Last 5 Years
Lots of songs from Bare, but off the top of my head: Role of a Lifetime, Ever After, Once Upon A Time, Cross, Bare, Absolution, and No Voice.
Number one would be "How Glory Goes" from Floyd Collins makes me cry everytime I hear it. Once I was driving home while it was playing and I was so emotionally involved that I wasn't going the speed limit and everyone kept passing me, and I barely even noticed.
Anyway... - "Epilogue" from Ragtime. The "Wheels of a Dream" makes me cry everytime - "No One Has Ever Loved Me" from Passion. Those orchestrations at the end... OMG. - "Goodbye Until Tomorrow" from The Last Five Years - "Finale" from Parade; whenever they start into "The Old Red Hills of Home" reprise. Also "All The Wasted Time" because I'm like "He's GOING TO DIE TOMORROW!" - I've cried at various times during Miss Saigon, usually the scene in which Thuy is killed, "I'd Give My Life for You," "The Last Night of the World," "Confrontation," and "Finale." - Les Mis I cried during Fantine's death and "Bring Him Home" (even though I usually hate that song.) - Sweeney Todd I always cry during the Act II "Johanna." - "You Should Be Loved" from Side Show.. poor Jake. - "Elaborate Lives (Reprise)" from Aida... I just lost it during that part when I saw the show live. - First time I ever heard Phantom, I cried during "Down Once More." Sadly, it can no longer make me cry.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
"The I Love You Song"- When we saw this, I was really touched. I mean, it was one of the strongest songs in the show not to mention really sad. "Fantasies Come True"- I dunno it just makes me upset to see Rod upset which means Barrett had to act upset so I was upset. Actually, thats pretty funny now that I think about it. "Neverland"- Reminds me of when I was little, and everything was all good and happy, there were no worries. "I'll Cover You (Reprise)"- Does this one NEED a reason?
"For Good" (Wicked)--Just because when I graduated high school, two girls in my class sang this as we planted our class tree. "Christmas Lullaby" (Songs for a New World)--I don't know, there is just something so pretty about these lyrics.
"Movies will make you famous; Television will make you rich; But theatre will make you good."--Terrence Mann
"Pretty much...if you've seen any shows that have a jerk boyfriend in that show...I'm that guy."--Richard H. Blake
Diane: Aww, you are such a chick flick. I would totally pay $12 to see you. (Kristin Chenoweth on "Ugly Betty")

Its funny, actually, because I really dont know the full show well at all, but I just downloaded the song, and it was one of the ONLY songs that have ever REALLY made me cry: -from Little Women, Some Things Are Meant To Be. That part of little women, whether it be the book, movie, OR show, just kills me SO SO much. And just the song is sooo gorgeous and so poignant and ahh.
other songs that give me MAJOR shakes: -Why, ttB -Still Hurting and Nobody Needs to Know, Last 5 Years -Without You, RENT (didn't used to, but after the movie? oh god. the ending now makes me tear up every.single.time) -I'll Cover You Reprise, RENT (but it mostly has to be jesse doing it for it to really REALLY get to me) -For Good, Wicked (dont care how cliche it is, it is SO SO emotional)
edit: how could I forget les mis!? -Empty Chairs and Empty Tables.. when done well.. omg -Bring Him Home.. again, when done well. NOTHING sadder than that
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
oh dang. ok. Hardest part of love (is the letting go) from Children of Eden In the Beginning from Children of Eden On the Willows from Godspell By my side from Godspell Finale from Godspell Fathers and Sons from Working I Confess from Footloose (sometimes) they can't take that away from me from Crazy for You For Good from Wicked Bring Him Home from les Mis
probably more
although none of these have made me cry every time I listen to it.
For Good (Wicked) I'll Cover You Reprise (Rent) Finale (Rent) All I Ask of You (Phantom of the Opera) No One is Alone (Into the Woods) Petrified (Taboo)
"I wish the stage were as narrow as the wire of a tightrope dancer, so that no incompetent would dare step upon it." Goethe
Tell Me it's Not True - Blood Brothers, absolutely kills me every time
Defying Gravity - First time I saw it it was so over whelming
Wizard & I - confessional bit, seeing Idina perform live (something being in the UK I never thought I'd see) really got to me. First big Elphaba song...well you get it. PLus one of the lines in the song hits home. Not the best ever musical but the one line gets me.
On My Own, Empty Chairs, A Little Fall of Rain and Finale - Les Mis
Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You, If I Didn't Believe in You - L5Y
The teardrop songs on my list: 1. The Wedding Singer - I wanna grow old with you. 2. Wicked - For Good 3. Spelling Bee - The I Love You Song 4. The Last 5 Years - For The Next 10 Minutes 5. The Last 5 Years - If I didn't believe in you 6. Light In the Piazza - Dividing Day 7. Rent - Cover You (Reprise)
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**
Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer**
Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!
Both 'We do not belong together' and 'Sunday (reprise)' in the recent London production of Sunday in the park with George got me a bit choked. As have 'Il Adore' (Taboo), 'Dividing Day' (Light in the Piazza) and that moment in the Les Mis finale when the chorus softly start to sing 'Do you hear the people sing?'.
Having said that, I've never cried full out in the theatre. Am I seeing the wrong shows? Or is it just because I'm British? Updated On: 10/23/06 at 09:07 AM
