Name 'em!

"The Factory Girls/Come Up To My Office" - PARADE
"The I Love You Song" - SPELLING BEE
"A Step Too Far" - AIDA
"The People Versus Horton The Elephant" - SEUSSICAL
"Along Came Bialy/Act I Finale" - THE PRODUCERS

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
--Aristotle

Craig--why do you say "And This Is My Beloved"? I just ask because I have sung that song as part of my voice repertoire, and I don't remember any overlapping, at least not in the sense of "Factory Girls/Come Up To My Office." Help me understand.

Perhaps "The Orphan" seguing into "Children of God" in Jane Eyre is one?

"Poor Baby" on the OBCR of COMPANY--the section beginning "Isn't she a little bit, well--dumb" and culminating in Elaine Stritch's booming delivery of "She's tall enough to be your mother...GO-LI-ATH!"

I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

I have a little place in my heart for "Out of Fashion" from Taboo. Does that count?

Rose-

I encourage you to buy the cd and listen to the entire song as it's done as a quartet. One of the most beautiful melodies/songs ever written.

I will investigate this CD, Craig, perhaps I can find a copy in the library somewhere :) And, having first hand experience with singing a solo version of this song, I do agree that it is beautiful: beautiful images text-painted for the audience by a gorgeous melody and accompaniment :)

Another couple: "Who Will Buy?" from Oliver! and "Fugue for Tinhorns" from Guys and Dolls

"Goodbye Until Tomorrow/ I Could Never Rescue You" The Last 5 years

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space
