Hello, all --

Trying to find a song for a very talented, young student of mine. He's around 10 years old.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sodomy
Rose's Turn
Lot's Wife
Send in the Clowns

Really, you could try Later from Night Music. I'm not familiar with the Billy Elliot score but there'd probably be some stuff there.

Later is a little too...adult in theme. As is (I believe) Giants in the Sky.

My Best Girl from MAME is lovely. Billy Elliott is also a great suggestion. Then there's Little People from Les Miz.

Also, there's a great kid's role in the musical of The Human Comedy. I don't know the score all that well, but I bet you can find something in that.

And, of course, there's the stuff from Oliver.

Mama a Rainbow (Minnies Boys) is a good choice I believe. I had an 11 year old kid audition for me using that song and it was really beautiful. Needless to say, he got the part.

The Kite from YAGMCB would work, as well as Alone in the Universe from Suessical. And of course there is Oliver.

When I was that age my repertoire and audition material consisted of The Kite, All for the Best (Godspell), Bigger isn't Better (Barnum), Little People (Les Miz), Consider Yourself (Oliver), and Pure Imagination.

Listen to Jason Robert Brown's musical '13" There are some songs in that show that are in that age group. Billy Elliot, Oliver as well. Good luck and hooray to new talent!

Not to get redundant but 'Oliver' ...possibly "Consider Yourself."

"My Father's A Homo" from Falsettos =)

Nawww. I keed.

"I Want To Know" from Big is good. I immediately thought "Mama A Rainbow," too.

There's really nothing to extract from The Human Comedy that is audition-worthy.

There are some good songs worth investigating in The Me Nobody Knows.

With Irma you gotta do something!

Oh, 'Seussical' would be great... I personally love "Alone in The Universe" but you run into the problem of it being a duet.
