"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed
Phantom always makes me cry... especially if it's Gary Mauer.
And 'For Good' from Wicked. One of my best friends was killed in a car accident in April, and it just fit so perfectly. "It well may be, we will never meet again in this lifetime." My friend and I sang it in memory of her at our concert.
"You'll Never Walk Alone" - Carousel. A lot of that is sentimentality however.
"One Day More" - Les Mis, just because it overwhelms me and I can't handle it.
"So Many Little Things" - BLBC
"ICY:Reprise" - RENT
"Children Will Listen" - ITW
"You just can't win. Ever. Look at the bright side, at least you are not stuck in First Wives Club: The Musical. That would really suck. "
--Sueleen Gay
"No One is Alone" - Bernadette Peters "Being Alive" - Bernadette Peters "I'll Cover You" - Idina Menzel (Katrina Benefit @ Gershwin) "Home" - The Wiz "Small World" (Reprise) - Gypsy "Fable" - The Light in the Piazza
and Judy Garland's rendition of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is beautiful.
I only got overly emotional in one show, Some things are meant to be from little women. i was in tears. and it still gets me.
"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."
To Kill A Mockingbird
"All the Wasted Time"~Parade "For Good"~ Wicked (mostly because a friend of mine, at the cast party wrapping up an emotional show I was in recently, pointed this song out as really relating to our production and the friendships we've made.) "I'll Cover You (Reprise)" That paired with Angel's Eulogy, makes me BAWL. "Days of Plenty"~Little Women (for reason of same show as the Wicked example. What can I say, the show was amazing!)
Q: What is the most weirdest or funniest thing a fan has asked you?
Joe Flanigan, Stargate Atlantis: When a fan asked me for help with his grammar. I'm available.
Both from FALSETTOS, "When Marvin Hits Trina" and "You Gotta Die Sometime" into "What Would I Do"...Just song wise, "Jonathan Wesley Oliver, Jr." by Lee Lessack gets me every time!
Oh, my God, I forgot "At the Ballet". When she says, "Daddy, I would love to dance" and then belts out that last high "At the BalLEEEEET!!!!!" I'm gone.
"What I Did For Love" can do the job too.
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."
When I saw See What I Wanna See two weeks ago I found myself bawling during two songs, both in the second act (Gloryday):
1) Mary Testa singing "There Will Be a Miracle"- she effortlessly belts out this fantastic song with so much conviction, it's crazy.
2) The entire cast singing "Rising, Up" - the sound coming off of that tiny stage was unlike anything I have ever heard. The harmonies in the quartet were so beautiful and LOUD and passionate and ahhh I'm gushing but that show is so amazing.
And in other shows:
Elaborate Lives (Reprise) - Aida A Little Fall of Rain - Les Mis Defying Gravity (Live)- Wicked or Idina Menzel's live shows
I had just finished shooting a coffee commercial.
And ain't it ironic? I don't drink coffee.
Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee.
"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

I cry during the song "Real Life" from Tick, tick...Boom! To me it is almost perfect and it makes me think of what Jonathan could have done, had he the time.
I also weep during "Wicked Witch of the East," after Elphaba bewitches Nessa's shoes and is singing the part about finally doing something good with her powers. I have a sister in a wheelchair and I would love to be able to make her walk, so that part really tugs at my heartstrings.
Cats: Memory Into the Woods: No One Is Alone Phantom of the Opera: Down Once More/Track Down This Murderer (specifically the reprise of Masquerade and "You alone can make my song take flight / It's over now, the music of the night) Ragtime: 'Til We Reach That Day (Act I Finale) Rent: Halloween, I'll Cover You (Reprise)...honestly I'm usually in tears from Contact to the end. The Last Five Years: If I Didn't Believe In You Les Miserables: On My Own
"Welcome To The World" and "Poem" from A Man Of No Importance. As much as I just love the songs, the whole premise show hits me very close to home because I wound up in a very similar situation.
"A Part Of Us"/"Why We Tell This Story" from Once On This Island. I first saw this show when a local high school did it. The end is just so tragic, but beautifully uplifting at the same time. I cried my eyes out.
"No More" and "No One Is Alone" from Into The Woods. ITW is just one of my favorite shows. Ever.
"For Good" from Wicked (yeah, yeah, I know, EVERYONE says this one). I sang this at my High School graduation ceremony, with the girl who has been my best friend since I was two years old (her as Elphaba and me as Glinda). It was probably the most emotional performance I'd ever done, because every word I sang was truth.
"Some Things Are Meant To Be" from Little Women. A beautiful song in it's own right, but more meaningful to me because of the aforementioned best friend. She didn't die, but we both left for college in completely different states. When we were little, we used to play Little Women with her dollhouse. It was our thing. She is like a sister to me. We literally ARE Jo and Beth (personality-wise).
"If I Didn't Believe In You" from The Last Five Years. In fact, about half the songs from The Last Five Years. Updated On: 11/6/05 at 01:15 AM
I'm not prone to weeping - but there's always the finale of Carousel...Not a Day Goes By (Merrily We Roll Along) ....Beautiful (Sunday in the Park)...If Love Were All (Bittersweet)....Old Man River...that get me teary.
However the other day I was walking along the street, listening to my ipod and out of the blue this beautiful plaintive voice started to sing SO FAR from Allegro and then as if there were not enough SOMETHING GOOD - the singer of course was Bernadette Peters...I was definitely crying in the street by that time.
