Yes... I'll be brave enough ask the question:
Although I haven't seen the show yet and I've heard how the awful the score apparently is... but, is there going to be a cast recording?

Posted: 2/15/11 at 12:10pmAgreed...the most boring, mind numbing cast album I can imagine. If only they'd be a recording of just the special effects! The show does have its moments...unfortunately the music is not one of them.

Posted: 2/15/11 at 5:47pmIn all seriousness, I'd love it if U2 would do a recording of several songs from the show. Bono made 'No More' sound pretty decent and good when clips of him singing it were on 60 Minutes. If only for the possibility that him and Edge would record one or two songs on their own, I'd like to see it.

"Obviously settelment talks didnt go well for them and with spiderman news they thought that now was the time to play hardball, personally if they see more then medical costs plus 50 k or so they made off good"
I challenge any young actor in New York to offer to get permanently scarred on their face for a measly $50,000. Then wait 10 years when the money's gone. Everytime they lose an audition and/or lost all chance of ever playing romantic because of their scar, they'll know their face was worth more like 2+ million dollars, since the slight chance they had at superstardom anyway was diminished by disfigurment. I don't believe everyone is that vain, or that these women are in entertainment, but everyone has a right to their own safety in a theatre and can put whatever price they want on their own beauty and body, which they own, and which was taken away unexpectedly by someone else.

In all honesty....and i'm prepared to be slaughtered for this....i want a cast recording.
The songs, are nice. But they are not for Broadway.
I don't know where else to put them...certainly wouldn't work for climbing the music charts haha
But, i think as songs themselves, for just performing at talent shows, cabarets, showcases etc...I see a few of the songs working in that sense. Just not for Broadway, where they are tangled up in a story.
Anyone understand what I mean? hahaa

I agree with you, I also want the OBC of Spiderman
For all of it's flaws- visually it was magically fantastic, and the music ran the gambit- from fabulous to fooey.
The OBC can help me remember the magic of the production- not the fooey!!

Are they willing to spend even MORE money to produce a recording for a show that might not even have legs? Doubtful, at this time.
I'd often said, I might have like the music more if I were JUST listening to it instead of it beign a part of a b'way show. But I wouldn't spend the money to find out!
