Since when do shows use handheld mics. I have never seen that in a show before. Usually people have ear mikes. I know that's what we do for community theater.
Oh, you must know that they use those mics because all the budget went to light bulbs.
At the end they had no money for the mics, so they had to use those. True story.

I wish I could watch it live. Most of the stuff I have to wait for them to make a movie or judge by the cast recording lol. And for the musical a show has to be based on the music, no matter how good the acting is.
		     			Are you for real? lol!

This is the funniest thread today! A review from a bootleg video...

You do know that ACTORS and CREATIVE TEAM read BWW! If youre gonna do this honey, do it on a downlow, baby! DO NOT POST IT for the whole world to read!

Craig- Can you pls delete the entire thread: Thank you

		     			I saw it.

Adored the choreography, music, lighting, John Gallagher Jr, loathed the lyrics, book, and everything else.

Well.. if you loved RENT so much...., since when do people have headset mics in a show unless its at a theme park?

I agree with you, yankee...except... I did not like the MUSIC! and one more thing... Jonathon Groff's spitting to the entire show really bothered me a lot!

Um ya sorry i tried to be nice but i cant after what you said about it
who do you think knows about this show better......theatre critiques or you who hasn't even seen it live yet.....its an amazing show and how can you judge a show off stupid you tube videos....you cannot call yourself a broadway fan if you decide to do that because if you knew the first thing about broadway you would know that every show is completely different when your actually there at the theatre experiencing it.....so dont feel free to pm me anymore it would be a waste of my time

You can't judge a show off of YouTube but you can off the original cast album.
um again no you can't how many people have to tell you, you can judge a show before you have seen it live its a completely different experience....i know people who have hated the music but love the show....its an amazing story with amazing acting

Saw the show wed night and I though it was just me with the spitting. I tried to ignore it but it was kind of distracting.
jackson992 ...... see the show live first , then judge. Spring awakening deserved EVERY Tony it won.

Except Best Book. That one really coulda gone elsewhere...

I don't think it deserved Best Choreography, either.

My advice: quit while you're still alive.

Thank you spork. jackson is being a little ridiculous, but so are the posters who are falling for it and posting about how it deserved every Tony it won. It didn't, not all of them, and Tony Awards really aren't a very good way of judging a shows artistic merits.

Yeah, people are making this out to be very black and white. I personally think that it has a few good songs, but I don't think it's the best musical evar and I still think some of the Tonys it won were questionable.

I sure don't agree with you having to see a show to say it's good. If a show has bad music, then it doesn't matter if you see it live lol. It's like Sweeney Todd, which I heard the music first but I thought I would still give the movie was a try. Of course I was right when I watched the movie and it was horrible but that is another topic lol.

I will say the storyline seemed kind of intriguing if a little risque but I thought they made it hard to follow.

Bear in mind a lot of my dislike for this show no doubt comes from the style of music as I would classify it as rock, which is a genre I can't stand unless we are talking oldies. Rent was a rare exception to that and it took me awhile to like that show lol.
