They need to get somebody other than McG to direct, AND they need to cast Lea Michele, Jonathan Groff, AND John Gallagher Jr.!!!!!
I totally love that idea cause I'm 15! (jbeebs and miley)
^The only person with any star power at this point is Lea. They'll probably cast her, Hunter Parrish and a 3rd stah.

Um, Hunter Parrish has no marquee value. This film has Glea and Groff written all over it. If they don't cast Groff and Glea you can expect it to be Selena Gomez and a Jonas Brother or some other Disney permutation.
Groff only has marquee value in the theatre community, a 3 episode arc on glee does nothing for him.

I think Lea and Groff are getting too old for the roles. That's just my opinion though. I think the material works better with young adults that look like real teenagers. Spring Awakeing is very much about the loss of innocence, and the cast needs the right look to pull it off, especially on screen. Despite them playing teens on TV, they don't look it at all.
Why are we calling her Glea, or is that just folks from Hunter Foster's team poking fun at her because she got on a successful TV show and garnered a ton of attention from the media and tweens, and should therefore be ostracized from Broadway? That's kinda lame, just sayin.
^People call her Glea because she has completely abandoned her nice, sweet, new york ways to be a stuck up Hollywood star
Except many people will tell you she wasn't all that sweet in NY either.

Exactly. Chances are, she was never sweet, she just doesn't have to play sweet at a stage door anymore, still no need to go with the lame tabloidesque name. I'm not necessarily trying to defend her. I am far from a Gleek, as I have seen the show all the way through exactly once, but come on, really? I'll just drop it now. I guess it just seemed lame to me in the moment. Sorry for going on about it.
Can't we put a rest to the rumors? None of us here know Lea personally, so who are we to judge? Sure, she could be a diva, but maybe she isn't.

BWW has a lot of members.
^ I mean out of the people that have been spreading these rumors. They have their "reliable sources" giving them information. You can't believe everything you read on the internet.

She will Glea Michelphaba until she dies or does Funny Girl.
Since it's a movie, I would love to see something a little more age appropriate.
I think Ariana Grande would be an excellent Wendla... and she now has the following to draw attention to the movie.

I don't believe everything I read on the internet, but I'm inclined to believe close friends who have worked with her.

@Finding Namo
John Gallagher was simply apologizing to his fans that wanted to see him. He just used a poor choice of words and quickly realized his mistake when he tweeted how much he loved his cast mates and the audience would get just the same, if not better effect.

Speak for yourself. She's a nasty piece of work.

I think 40 year olds as young, poor Bohemians worked in the RENT film. Who says a 30 year old Moritz is such a bad idea?
The RENT movie having older actors (other than in the case of Mimi, who was great but too visibly old) didn't upset me so much- I never really took it as "these are young people with their whole lives ahead of them" but as "these people will NEVER succeed adn they know it, but they're going to keep going anyway until they die of it."
I thought having older actors in RENT was pretty embarrassing. It's one thing to be a twenty-something struggling to find your place and your art and whining about paying rent. It's another thing to be doing that in your forties. GET A JOB.
