Does anyone know when they're having auditions for the national tour of Deaf West's Spring Awakening? Is it still happening?
Probably not, unless the fans fund it, or Ken Davenport pretending to be a bunch of fans.
It was announced for next year and should be having auditions soon. I hope it isn't dead ![]()

I think the odds of a national tour of the recent Broadway revival of Spring Awakening happening at this point are a real longshot. The show itself (as well as the Deaf West production) is a very hard sell to the general public. It clearly showed in the grosses as the revival lost a lot of money.

Not happening. They had to Kickstart their Tonys performance, remember.

Though there were rumors that Ken Davenport had to put the money upfront in order to secure a spot on the Tonys and only used the Kickstarter to cover up all the money they lost.

I think neonlightsxo wrote his post sarcastically. LOL

Yeah, I know. I was here. That doesn't mean he has the money for a national tour, though.

That's not a rumor.

... or you could have said, "I don't think the tour is happening." Much easier to read. Either way, you're correct. :)
Hey, has anyone tweeted Ken Davenport to ask him? I'm sure he'll give a straightforward answer!
Thanks for the grammar lesson, Liza. I have no idea what we'd do without you.

Well. I don't think there's many who actually believe they "had" to. ![]()

Great contribution (as always), GingerBread. There are some on here who actually do appreciate it. Move on.

tourboi, I think I made it clear my comment was in jest.
So, right now I'm working with Russell Harvard (Awesome guy BTW) in a show and he just told me the tour is still happening and it will start in 2018.
Seems doubtful, but time will tell.

Is Russell Harvard going to be in it? I saw him in SA, and then I saw him more recently in "I Was Most Alive With You", and he was truly amazing. I hope he'll be on the tour, and I really, really hope you've got the right scoop and that it's really happening.

I doubt it. And he is incredible in acting! But, I hope he comes to the tour!
It is still definitely on track and happening. I think it will be a huge success, the Broadway version was incredible. Why do people insist it is cancelled? It didn't win any TONYS but if FUNHOME can tour so can DEAF'S SPRING.
And my lavish revival of Follies that will be playing my apartment is on-track for 2018, too. I'm just waiting for the crowdfunding money to come in. If we don't meet the fundraising goal, all of the actors will have to sleep in their respective subway stations all over the city because they wont be able to afford the fare to get here so please donate.

Is it in Jan Maxwell's bag?
If it is, she should come out of retirement so that we can fill it with Tonys instead.
