St. James Theatre Stage Expansion

While looking at the plans for the Helen Hayes renovation, I saw that the neighboring St James will receive a stage expansion. The anex will be altered giving the St. James some more room backstage. Does this mean that the St. James will be able to show more technically/scenically advanced shows. http://newyorkyimby.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/HelenHayesTheater_20151124_06.jpg

I don't know about 'technically advanced' but they would be able to fit a bit more scenery, which would be nice considering how small the wing space is.

Disney has only ever use their own space, or a Nederlander house. Going into a Jujamcyn venue would be a major development and one likely not made, let alone this far in advance. I imagine they will push for their choice of Nederlander venues.

It does suck that the theaters have no wing space. I'd imagine designing for all these different houses is super difficult given how little space there is. No wonder Something Rotten has so many flown pieces.

KING KONG?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

In the Fall for the Helen Hayes with the full St James expansion happening when Rotten closes. They will begin preparing for the Expansion with pre-work while Rotten is still running"
