Stage door for Harry Potter?

I am seeing Harry Potter tomorrow, and I was wondering what people's experiences have been like. (I apologize if there is already a thread; I searched but didn't come up with one.) Does pretty much everyone come out? And has anyone tried after the matinee on a two-show day? I would guess that the actors would wait until after the second show, but I wasn't sure. I might have to leave right after the second show, so I wouldn't be able to stick around to do the stage door.
Thanks in advance!

Posted: 4/24/18 at 10:16amI have stage doored three times for this show. They only stagedoor after part two, so keep that in mind. the entire cast is super sweet, and will talk and sign to everyone. It really is a great cast. I have not met Jamie Parker yet, though, so I’m not sure how often he stage doors. Some people only sign one playbill, and others sign both.

I couldn't sort out why there even were two. On a marathon day, seems a waste.

I went about two weeks ago and a majority of the cast came out- Jamie Parker, Poppy Miller, and Noma did not come out. Everyone was really kind taking the time to chat with the crowd, sign multiple playbills, books, souvenir programs, take pictures. I wanted to see Jamie Parker but it was still one of my better stage door experiences. The crowd was also very respectful and well behaved, I honestly expected a zoo but there was no pushing or screaming.

Posted: 4/25/18 at 12:26pmI stage doored a few times in the west end and Noma and Jamie never came out. You might have a better chance catching them on the way in to the theatre before the show. A lot of people will say it’s rude to bother them before the show, but every time I’ve done it to meet someone who didn’t stage door they were always humble and happy to sign whatever.

They come out after the second show. Everyone was incredibly sweet and responsive and signed and took selfies. I went the night there was a blizzard/snowstorm/ whatever that snow was a couple of weeks ago and they came out even in the bad weather. Really applaud them for that. Really positive experience and really calm stage door.

Thank you everybody for your advice, and especially for the heads-up that some of the principal cast might not come out (which, of course, is their prerogative). Jamie Parker, Noma D, Poppy Miller, and Alex Price all did not come out. Everyone who did was very nice and super friendly.
I also echo what others said that the stage door was very calm. I think it's because the barricade is so long that it's mostly a single layer of fans. So people aren't pushing or reaching over each other. It was very chill, and the cast was very gracious.

I will be seeing the show soon over two consecutive days, does the cast still just sign after part 2 or is that only for two show days?

They sign after Part II on two-show days, and after the performance on a single-show day.
Stage door'd last night and my experience was the same as every one else's. Most of the cast came out to sign except for Jamie, Noma, Poppy, and Alex. Fourteen signatures and it was probably the quickest stage door experience I've ever had with this big of a cast. Was overall only 30 minutes and Paul Thornley was already outside signing by the time I made it down from the back of the balcony and onto 43rd street. Hoping to go back and see if I can get the others.

Funny story: Due to buying some merch and trying to find my friend, I was late with stage door and most of the cast had already gone through except for Anthony, Paul, and Jamie. Anthony was the end so my friend & I caught him there (really sweet). My friend noticed a large gap in the middle near Jamie so we went there (also really sweet and really funny). And then we went towards the end of the line again for Paul. He was chatting with everyone, making them laugh and such. When he got to us, Jamie had already made his way down and was now next to Paul. Paul signed my Playbill and then actually handed it to Jamie, who signed it again, and then gave it back to me. Heh.
So, that Playbill has Anthony, Paul, and two Jamie signatures. ![]()

Posted: 6/2/18 at 8:18pmI saw the show last Sunday and had a very good stage door experience. The show let out around 10:15 and pretty much everyone came out, signed, and took pictures. I had to leave around 10:55 so I'm not sure if Jamie, Alex, or Poppy came out (Jamie very well could have because the barricades were still up), but most of the principals (Noma, Paul, Anthony, Sam) all came out and were very friendly and gracious. Some of the cast even asked where we were from and really were interested in conversing with everyone. Anthony even went back down the line to make sure he didn't miss signing or doing pictures for anyone. The cast of Harry Potter are true class acts!

Do Sam and Anthony usually come out? I am from out of town and am seeing the show on a Sunday. I would be really happy if I could tell them how great they were.

Posted: 6/10/18 at 12:52pmWhat do you do there? And I don’t have self entitlement. I was just wondering because it seems lately a lot of mean girls people have been calling out lately and then I watched a few blogs that said they didn’t see Anthony perform so I was just wondering how often they are on.

On the 43rd street side. You pass right in front of it if you line up along 43rd street to go into the theater.

Thanks! When facing the 43rd street public entrance, is the stage door on your left, or your right?

It will be to your right as you face the entrance. No way to miss it - very long barricade and I will echo the comments above that it is a very pleasant and easy stage door experience. I saw it yesterday and stage doored - the audience members/stage doorers were polite and the actors, while clearly exhausted and signing quickly, still stopped for those who also asked for selfies and were very kind. No Jamie or Noma but many others came out.

Posted: 6/14/18 at 4:51pmCan anyone confirm whether the cast comes out the stage door and signs autographs on Thursday nights after the single performance? I know on one-show days they only come out after the second show and it seems like the messages on this thread are a little conflicting as to whether they come out on Thursday nights also. I’d appreciate any guidance. Thanks!
