re: Standing Ovations 4 reviews! What a great night!

Well....I didn't talk to Josh..but Joey is an absolute doll..I'm glad I got to talk with him at the after party. They both did a GREAT job backing all the performers.

Again...a standing ovation to Rob,Eddie,Craig and all who were involved to make this another special evening.

I got to see, was lucky enough to see, Nicolette in Chorus Line when it was done here in Rochester last season. She played "Dance 10" in the production here, can't remember the character name sorry. She was excellent and sexy as all hell. Right before that she was touring with Bette on the Kiss My Brass tour as one of the Harlettes. I really hope she gets into the revival. Great person and amazing performer.

ha, sorry beacs! It was... the excitement?

Definitely one of those nights where you wake up smiling the next day. For a lot of reasons. *sigh*

In a night full of terrific moments, D'Jamin Bartlett was my absolute favorite. Stunning, earthy, sexy as hell and she can still sing the sh*t out of perhaps my favorite Sondheim song.

I've been to all four concerts, and this one was THE BEST. I can't believe all that talent was in that tiny space.

Standouts included Nicolette Hart's BRILLIANT monolouge/song from A Chorus Line, Natascia Diaz and Andrea Burn's in the West Side Story duet (get Natascia ON BROADWAY NOW.), David Burnham, What You Own, Lea Salonga.. ah I could go on FOREVER.

A+++++ ALL AROUND AND FOR ALL THOSE INVOLVED :)

Not only "32 years after the fact," but "in the same key."

We can't let that important addd fact be lost.

Powerful and emotional performance by D.

NIGHT MUSIC was the first show I saw on Broadway, and I also had the privilege of going to the closing performance. D's delivery of the "The Miller's Son" washed away those 30 odd years for a few minutes last night, and brought back the magic of original production of NIGHT MUSIC.

Magnificent job.

It was indeed magical, Jose'. The most sophisticated thing this 15-year-old had ever seen: the Boris Aronson birch trees, the Patricia Birch musical staging, the Florence Klotz costumes...and those performances!

I used to love saying to my friends, enigmatically, "How can you slip and trip into a hip bath?" or "You acquiesced, and the rest is a blank" or "Say that I settle on B, to wit, / A charmingly lecherous mood, / A, I could put on my nightshirt or sit / Disarmingly, B, in the nude."

It was magical but my teenage friends thought I was a freak. And I was! A Sondheim freak!

Were you too, Jose'?

I was!

I went to school with his nephew, and I can remember being THRILLED when he did a workshop with us and then invited us to "A Little Night Music" on Broadway. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!

DVD release? Anyone?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
