Star Wars: Episode III

The moment Star Wars fans have been waiting for for years!
Anakin goes to the Dark Side! Obi-Wan confronts his apprentice for the first time! The Skywalker Twins are born! Wookies Galore!
I'm so excited because I got my tickets for the first showing on opening night (er, morning). Who's going?

I probably will, but I'll wait until the crowds die down. It looks cool.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

Early reviews are very good. It doesn't top A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back, but it's apparently as good as or possibly better than Return of the Jedi. For sure, it is better than The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

I'm so excited!!

I'll wait a week to see it. Cause if I have to see one over zealous star wars fan in a costume he made in his mother
s basement, I'll swing!

I have been waiting for years to see this. re: Star Wars: Episode III I'm very excited about it and the hype around it seems very promising. All reviews I have seen say it's the best out of all 6.

11 days to go! YAY!

That should go without saying. :) I'm anxious to see it.

That's damning with faint praise, isn't it?

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I'm excited! Regardless of how much better ROTS will be compared to TPM or ATOC, I'm sure it still won't be as good as the original Star Wars or esp Empire Strikes Back. I just don't care for these characters in the same way. And TPM and ATOC were awful.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I don't think it's fair to compare the prequels with the original trilogy. The originals were magical in a different way. The originals were, well, original, and ANH wasn't a big thing when it was being made. The special effects were good for their time, but I loved the character chemistry. Now in our day and age special effects usually rule movies.
The prequels are okay, but Lucas is limited because he has to lead into the originals. Plus the majority of the actors are, well, you know.

Except for Ewan of course. He's scorchin'!

re: Star Wars: Episode III

It's ironic, b/c in some ways I think the special effects of the original trilogy look better than what is in the prequels, where so much looks like CGI, b/c it is. I completely agree, the originals do have a certain special kind of magic that is irreplaceable.

It is hard to home again, and George Lucas has proven that in some respects. He's happy that the technology helped him to tell his story, but it didn't make up for the poor scripts (including some really cheesy dialogue) and thin characterization in the prequels.

Ewan is fabulous, and Liam Neeson was superb. Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman are normally very good actors who struggled a bit b/c of writing.

All of that being said, I'm thrilled that ROTS has gotten some really positive early feedback. It's dark, as TESB was, ties in with the OT and shows us what we've been waiting for--Anakin to turn to the dark side. And hopefully Natalie and Hayden are more comfortable this time around. Yay!

re: Star Wars: Episode III

Reportedly, the acting and dialogue are still wince-inducing, but it's a huge improvement over the previous two installments. Speilberg may have had a bit of a hand in some of the action scenes, which is good news...

re: Star Wars: Episode III

well when you look at any of the other film the dialogue realy isnt the greatest film dialogue. Clone Wars has gotten me excited to see this film. FYI Clone Wars will be airing on Cartoon Network May 14 starting at 7pm EST. from the reviews that ive read it seem like it make the other prequel films make sense.

re: Star Wars: Episode III

I'm really looking forward to it. Even though I was terribly disappointed by the two most recent ones, I still have hope they'll go out with a bang instead of a whimper.

Yes, above all, I am most worried about the dialogue and acting of Hayden and Natalie. I miss Liam's Qui-Gon!

re: Star Wars: Episode III

Can't wait. To tell you the truth, I was never really a Star Wars fan but the anticipation of this movie made me go out and rent all of the originals. I royally hate the two new ones (except for Ewan McGregor) but this looks amazing. CAN'T WAIT!!
