Star Who You Wouldnt Want on Bway

All this talk of big stars working on Bway better than nobodies made me wonder--- who do you think should stay 1,000 feet from a Bway stage?

I say--- ASHLEE SIMPSON!!!!

Colin Ferril. There is something about that man that just completely repells me. I have this awful feeling in my stomach that one day he's going to decide he wants to "go legit" and star in some awful play. Please, please fate, prove me wrong.

Joey Fatone, he was in rent and he was so terrible not even Jai Rodriguez made the show enjoyable. He shouldnt be aloud to ever do theatre again but as for someone who has never done it and never should I have to say Snoop Dogg. He started having a film carrerr but if he made it to b-way (though the only way he could would be for a publicity stunt) ill never see another broadway show again. I like the dogg but not in a musical.

a) joey fatone i feel has paid his dues and proven himself after getting fairly positive notices both in rent and little shop.
b) i think snoop would be a hoot in a contemporary version of midsummer as puck. just think of it!!! the fairy dust is a whole new story kids.

re: Star Who You Wouldnt Want on Bway

No one has mentioned Britany Spears, I would think she was a dead cert "Stay The Hell Away From Broadway" campaign and top of the blacklist.

Fabio... I would cry till I had no tears left if he was cast in a broadway musical. Ryan Seacrest, nuff said, and the ever repulsive Richard Simmons... I think I got all the big bad uglies.

Britney Spears. They would cast her in a musical of course, but she just can't sing!

ALL if those already mentioned should avoid Broadway like the plague!

Too lazy to think of my own right now.

re: Star Who You Wouldnt Want on Bway

Not that I'm a big boy-band-on-Broadway defender, but I saw Joey Fatone in Little Shop a bunch of times and I thought he was great as Seymour. In fact, after the first time I saw him, I HAD to see him again. All of this to my shock, mind you since Hunter Foster was so wonderful. I guess I had low expectations of his replacement. Plus, I was never an NSYNC fan. I did not see him in Rent though, but I think he got better reviews in Little Shop than Rent. Anyway now that that's said...

I would definitely say that I agree that all of the young ladies already mentioned, Ashlee Simpson most importantly, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and especially Ashlee's big sis Jessica should stay FAR AWAY from even the thought of Broadway. There's just that lack of conformity that happens when a popular singer decides to be a Broadway star that we don't need to experience as often as these big names have been popping up.

My two cents!

Clumsy Dude --

You do realize that Calista Flockhart has been on Broadway already -- in THE THREE SISTERS and THE GLASS MENAGERIE, for which she won a Theatre World Award...

And let's not forget Calista in Bash - although I believe that was Off-Broadway - But it was televised.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

Why the hate for J.lo? I would allow her to be in a dancing ensemble that sang a little, I mean obviously not STAR in a show, but she obviously has the dancing chops. You know she was almost cast as Morales in 'A Chorus Line'?
