I sat in the discounted orchestra seats as well for the first time. Second time I saw in the rmezz and I did not like it that much. I stood in the back for the second act. I just got another ticket for 1st row orch ( discount). This is a show (for me) that I will only get orch. seats.
But does anyone else think snl is being a little obsessive? It could be just me, and I don't mean to be rude, but saying you have a "cosmic connection" with someone after meeting them a couple times seems a little much. And I do not mean to be mean at all, it just rubbed me wrong, like some of those slightly too obsessive fan stories. Just wanted to say, and I don't mean to start any fights... It's probably just me, she's probably just an enthusiastic fan. Sorry, just had to say!!!

I would be VERY surprised if this production didn't generate a recording. The numbers so far have been great and I don't think any carping on the critics' part will do much damage (assuming they do carp -- remember, the original wasn't received with unanimous open arms by the critical fraternity in 1968, but the show ran for almost 5 years anyway). And if material like 13 and Song of My Life warrants a recording, I'm sure that this one will get its recording hands down. I'm pretty sure it will be Tony-nominated (what am I saying -- there's only been four musical revivals this season) and if they do one of their high-level impact numbers on the broadcast, out-of-towners are going to want to see it. Hair, whatever anyone's individual taste, is one of the classic Broadway shows and multiple recordings of its fabulous score are welcome.

LOL, nooo no I was just joking about the "cosmic connection" thing :P TRUST me, I never ever get like that haha. It's just in this particular case it really was kind of crazy, because this is the second time now after the first time we met him, where we've randomly run into Jay by complete happenstance! So that's why I was saying, we just have a thing with him haha.
And just to make clear, I totally am not under the impression that we're besties or anything lol. But he was all excited too :) And we really have talked to him quite a bit. We were hanging out with him all during Hairspray on Broadway when we saw it! I would never ever say I "know" someone after just having met them for 2 seconds at the stage door or anything lol. He literally ran over right after Let The Sun Shine was done and gave us hugs and visited with us for a while before heading down to his dressing room :) And I just friended him on Facebook a few hours ago and he sent me back the most adorable/sweet message!
So yeah, in this particular case we actually do know him, and he's super friendly with us too hehe
Truly, I didn't mean to come off like an obsessed fan girl! I SWEAR I would never get like that. Ever. haha. I'm blown away when Broadway people even remember me at ALL from having stagedoored (it's happened twice, and I really have no idea how lol), let alone expecting that they'd remember me
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

OMG taylor, your avi!! Will is so freaking gorgeous it's kind of ridic. I need to take my camera next time and get pictures. Literally everyone at the stage door was standing there being like "can you just... stand there and let us stare at you for a while??" hehe (didn't say that TO him, of course, cause that would be creepy, but just amongst ourselves )
About the seating, I really kind of feel the same way about the box seats. They were SO perfect, I wouldn't really want to sit many other places! Front/2nd row I'd be down for because that's awesome, but other than that.. I am SO spoiled by that view. It was fabulous! I would definitely not want to sit anywhere near the back. It just wouldn't be the same.

A different experience is a great way to say it - and I mean, you still get love from cast members all the time in the mezz, from no matter where you are actually.
And thanks Snl!! He is gorgeous, it was hard to not go fangirl on him but i wanted to keep my dignity!!
Oh, and i'm not sure if its been mention, but im obsessed with the truck the band sits in!!! So great!
I have that shirt too! I've gotten many compliments...
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.
"Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."

SNL...there's a reason that's my avatar. lol...oh look, we're twins...
And to the earlier question about cast recordings...I'm addicted to foreign cast recordings of the show. It's amazing what some productions have done with the orchestrations over the years. Or with the recordings themselves, like how the original Australian cast recording (LP) grouped multiple songs in single tracks because "the musical sequence has been altered in order to make each track an event in itself," and you have Aquarius going into Hare Krishna...craziness.
Dude how did I not even notice that was your avi!? haha, sorry bout that :P
I can change it if you want! But.. I do love it. Think it's okay if we both use it?
