Stephanie D'Abruzzo to Leave Avenue Q on Dec. 24!

Posted: 11/5/05 at 12:22am

Damn...she was such a good part of the show. But I guess she's just had enough, seeing as she's been with the show since the very beginning. Well, best of luck with everything Stephanie!

The new show that she is doing is called I Love You Because. Here's the website:

The music is pretty good...do I smell another Avenue Q/Spelling Bee?

She has had a great run with it. I am sure she is ready for something new. Congratulations, Steph, and get ready for all the "Get Stephanie to stay in Q" petitions!
Now let the whining begin!!

PEACE.

I wish her well. It's rare these days for a lead actress in a Broadway show to stay with that show for over two years. I know it happens but it's becoming more and more rare.

when I saw her two weeks ago she seemed as fresh as ever. I applaud her hard work in continually reinventing the roles and wish her the best of luck in her future projects.

I saw a reading of I LOVE YOU BECAUSE and it seemed like a kind of low rent I LOVE YOU/PERFECT, but D'Abruzzo was the best part of it and she gets at least one killer song. Good for her for branching out.

I saw Stephanie back in May and she was amazing. She was so sweet to take photos with us afterwards. I truly wish her all the best of luck.

This is really sad news for me... But I understand she must move on to something new instead of staying on Avenue Q. Now, I just hope Ann Harada won't leave. Now, SHE'S the BEST Christmas Eve (I saw LV production) I've ever seen!

WHA!??!

NO!!!!!!!!! Petition time! J/k

Seriously though- Steph could be like one of THE nicest people! She has stayed and talked with me after Q for more than my fair share. Such a great, beautiful, talented, friendly women!
I cannot see anyone doing Lucy and Kate as well as she has. The way she plays and created both of those characters blows me away!
So sad to see her go but alas, she has been there since the beginning on Q.
"Everything in life is only for now..."

I wonder who will take over. I would love to see Jen do it! Jen has soo much talent and it is rarely ever shown. I hope she gets gets to be the next Lucy/Kate!

Good luck to Stephanie in the next show and I know she will make it big!

Sadness. But it is time for her to move on. What a lovely performer and person. Best of luck to her!
I would love to see Jen take over the roles. I've never seen her perform it, but again, I love her as a performer and person. It would be great to see her do it. And what, two blondes in the leading roles this time around? Haha.

It's sad to see Stephanie leaving Q, but I wish her a lot of success in her new show, and beyond. Obviously, we'll continue to see/hear a lot of her onstage, and who knows, maybe she'll get a TV show like Johnny.

8 hours and no word from Corine?
Now, that's scary...

I hope she hasn't tried to harm herself in any way...

When you guys saw the date she was leaving, did any of you happen to start singing anything?

Perhaps:

**December 24th,** Nine PM,
Eastern Standard Time
From Here On In
I Shoot Without A Script
See If Anything Comes Of It
Instead Of My Old Sh!t....

Don't mean to start any kind of uproar- just thought that was kind of ironic...
ok- back on topic...

I hope we see D'Abruzzo in a musical sometime soon. She is a great performer, and I think she has great potential.

Wasn't Stephanie scheduled to leave Q, like, in July? What happened with that? Did she leave and then come back or was that just a rumor?

Lol, I guess it would help if I read the entire thread.

I like the idea of a modern day Pride and Prejudice. It certainly can't be any worse than First Impressions. ZZZZZZ....

My thoughts and prayers are with her muppet at what must surely be a difficult time.

I'm starting a petition to get our own Corine2 into that cast.
