so, Stephen Sondheim is coming to my city, and all it says on ticketmaster is "Stephen Sondheim" it gives NO details whatsoever... anyone know if he is touring to other places and giving concerts? this just seems so random that he would come to our town... and i looked on ticket master and its the only town... any details you have would be great, if not, well, oh well.. this is just SO odd because on ticketmaster it shows this as the only thing

It's called A CONVERSATION WITH FRANK RICH. They did a night here at Boston, of course New York City recently and now in Philadelphia and Richmond, VA>
I think it is technically called "A Conversation with Stephen Sondheim," but am not sure. It is being moderated/conducted by Frank Rich. I am pretty sure it just an interview/forum, more or less, but in other cities that have hosted the event, I think I recall there being a performance or two thrown in. It is being done as part of the UR Modlin Center season...I think they just figured it would be too "big" of an event to do at the university (much like they did with Sedaris).
And thank you for reminding me...I keep forgetting to stop by the Landmark to get my tickets!
I guess.. its a tour, if that's what you wanna call it...
It will be in Akron, OH too on 4/20/2009:

According to NONESUCH- its a tour. They will probably add more dates:

It would be nice if they came to Denver. I would just die.
Please( to infinity) let them come to Toronto! The city's musical theatre community would seriously Plotz themselves (myself included)
Your theater may offer rush tickets for this. Call their box office to find out.
oh, well I'm going free anyways because I volunteer usher, but my mom and I had NO clue what it was, but I'm really excited now!
I saw him in Boston. A Delightful evening.
With them will be a handful of singers and a pianist to perform a number of songs.
Has anyone else seen this? My friend has great seats for Sunday, but I have an important family event I'd have to miss. Wondering how awesome/lifechanging/wonderful of an experience this would be.
I am a big Sondheim fan (only discovered him in the past year, though), and I figure this is a relatively rare event and I may not have this chance again.

I would recommend this, simply because Frank Rich's book "Ghost Light" is a must for any theatre-lover. He truly loves the art.
