re: Strike Coverage: How to Support Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS

Thanks Rob. I hope that maybe Young Frankenstein will consider a special benefit or one of the bigger show to help make up for this loss. It could be a great opportunity for one of those wonderful Producers who has the money to do something to help the Community and bring some good PR to Broadway in general.

Lots of talent who could use the work and would much rather be doing something to show they really do care about those who support their talented work.

How did the event at the Marquis go on Monday? I read nothing about it.

It would be wonderful for shows to make their signed items available online during this time. I would buy most if not all of them.

If your in New York, you can stop by Theater Circle on 44th St, Broadway New York under the Marriott Marquis, or One Shubert Alley for some of the BC/EFA items. They're carrying such items as the hats, bags, cups, picture frames, Broadway Bares calendars, etc. We sell the items just for BC/EFA and the stores make no money off of them. Please support BC/EFA, and if your at the Broadway New York store, I'm working most days 9-5, be sure to introduce yourself to me.

Question: If I were to buy, say a DVD, from the online store, would the money go to BC/EFA or does that only apply to BC/EFA items?
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I bought a few things. Carols for a Cure is great this year.

FYI, I saw Young Frankenstein the other night and they didn't do an announcement!! I looked for items in the lobby & didn't see any. I don't think they are fundraising at all even though they are now open.

wonderfulwizard: If your asking about BroadwayNewYork.com, then no, they don't give to BC/EFA. But go to Broadwaycares.org. They should have all the items there.

Oh wow Matt I just missed you but if you are still there when I come back to New York I will say hi to everyone. Do they have a website too? I'm in California so I can only buy online.

That is terrible to hear about YF. What is wrong with Mel? They must be picking up all kinds of sales with all of the other shows closing. I can't go right now but I hope others do complain about this. It is a very worthy cause.

Thanks Rob.

With everything that's going on in the Broadway Community right now, it sure is nice to see everyone come together. It's wonderful to know that our hearts are in the right place no matter what our differences. Bravo to you all! re: Strike Coverage: How to Support Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS

They collected money at Pygmalion the other night. Jefferson Mays reiterated how there only 8 theaters collecting money. They were selling autographed cast posters.

Young Frankenstein was collecting yesterday for BCEFA. They were only selling signed posters for $100 but had lots of buckets collecting donations. Roger Bart made a hilarious speech at curtain call that had Sutton Foster doubled over laughing....something about 98 cents of every dollar raised will go directly to Mel Brooks and the other 2 cents to BCEFA...it was funny.

I donated under Drowsy's listing and also bought the cd and picture frame.
