Strongest/Weakest Second Stage Shows

Discussion in "The Substance of Fire" thread makes me wonder:
What has been the strongest/weakest shows at Second Stage?

Strongest/Weakest Second Stage Shows

I've seen a lot there that I've liked--including shows that were panned by almost everyone. I might have been the only big fan of Modern Terrorism and Gruesome Playground Injuries.

On the flip side, some of the shows that people tended to love left me cold--Everyday Rapture.

Favorite? Probably By the Way, Meet Vera Stark.
Least favorite? Don't hate me, but it was that The Last Five Years revival.

I have to second the Dogfight love. The only other show I've seen at 2ST was Little Miss Sunshine and I wasn't completely taken by it, but it's certainly not the worst thing I've ever seen.

My favorite was The Last Five Years and my least favorite was....god I can't remember the title but they were all on a reality show. Super bad.

Strongest/Weakest Second Stage Shows

Hm. Honestly I've seen a ton of shows at 2nd Stage, and really I've only liked Next to Normal. Dogfight wasn't terrible, but also wasn't great. The Blue Flower had some beautiful music but was just weird and boring. Nobody Loves You was terrible. Wings was terrible. Some play I saw where they were in a house in the Hamptons? Was terrible. I'm sure I've seen a lot more, but I've just lost interested in them. Not quite sure I understand what they're point as a theatre is. They don't really do anything new or innovative. It's all pretty mildy boring stuff.

Spelling Bee, hands down. It is without a doubt one of my favorite shows that I've ever seen. I saw the show 2 times off Broadway and like 5 times on Broadway. Not to mention the whole bunch of other times I saw it in regional productions. I also really like Dogfight and The Last Five Years, but it 5 didn't start at 2ST.

Strongest/Weakest Second Stage Shows

The worst for me is a three-way tie between Chad Deity, Becky Shaw, and Water By The Spoonful.

I'm also realizing that I've found most things at this theatre to be incredibly mediocre. The closest I've come to actively liking something there (that didn't eventually transfer to Broadway) was All New People.
