"Any chance this could come to the US? After all The Palace just opened up."
Cameron Mackintosh normally has a better relationship with the Shuberts Organization, so I wouldn't put my money on a Nederlander theatre just yet.

Maybe they're just waiting for Cinderella to close so they can take the Broadway Theater.
Yes, I predict that Cinderella will run through the end of the year, close and then have Saigon come in for spring 2015.
Excited for this, loved the trailer, but
does it really need acrobats?
Post-Pippin, every show will need acrobatics now. Just like every show used to need flying (post Wicked/Mary Poppins) or puppets (post Lion King, etc.)

I would love to see Peter Jackson direct a film adaptation of this! This musical is a movie waiting to happen

I saw this production twice. I saw the very first preview and then a performance maybe two weeks after opening. I had little knowledge of the show and absolutely loved it. Eva Noblezada and Jon Jon Briones were incredible. Alistair Brammer was somewhat wooden and Tamsin Carroll, despite a lovely voice, looked awkward next to Brammer. Honestly, she looked like she should have been his mother. I didn't find it hard to follow and loved every second. The Fall of Saigon and the American Dream were two of the most thrilling moments I've ever experienced in the theatre. This trailer does do this production justice on every level.
...coming soon to a Broadway Theatre near you
The leads (Kim and the Engineer) look phenomenal! I really hope they transfer with the show.
