Upon first glimpse, I got goosebumps. VERY cool.
And by a strange coincidence, I'm watching the Burton/Depp SLEEPY HOLLOW on TNT.
Thanks Buffy!

So...have we heard any speculation about what SWEENEY will be rated?
SLEEPY HOLLOW was R-rated and pretty bloody. Do you think they'd go that route with SWEENEY as well, or go for the more family-friendly PG-13? I can't imagine they'd want to risk a big holiday flagship musical with an R rating.
I don't know how it would sell, but i HOPE Burton makes it scary, i.e very bloody.
This is such an amazing poster! I am soo excited for this movie. Cannot wait!
Look! There's Big Ben!
And is that blood under the chair's leg?
I was lead to believe that they were going for an rating. Lots of blood and gore.
well in making it a "slasher" type movie, I really hope it retains some of the show's signature qualities, like the dark humor, and the chilling love plot lines...however I'm still very excited!

I love it! What a great poster. Ah, so excited.
miracle elixer... Look at the poster, he does look incredibly sad and disturbed, and in absolutely no way does this look or even suggest campiness as you suggest. He looks absolutely tortured. And how can you judge all those things from a freaking teaser poster anyway. It's a little difficult to show sad, funny, thrilling, romantic, violent, etc (all the things the show is) in a TEASER poster.
Oyyy, I seriously love how they have subtle hints to the plot in the poster (i.e. Big Ben in the back so you know it's set in London, the red glare from the cellar)
This poster is so hot! I want! I want now!
I like it. Now if HBC was hanging behind him on the barber's chair, then it would be perfect! Other than that, it is very well made. Excellent choice in colors and I can see the tortured/yet killer instinct in JD's eyes so it works for me that way.
Now where is our Mrs. Lovett? That is the real surprise I'm waiting for.
I am in LOVE with this poster.
My favorite thing may be the very eerie portrait of Lucy and Johanna in the background. Gorgeous.
He looks like a crazed Maxwell Sheffield.
I think it captures the movie and broadway production perfectly! I haven't really expressed any opinions in the past couple of months because well, I haven't seen anything but this looks spectacular! I especially love LMK in the background!
This quote is from Burton, and judging the three things he mentioned, Elixer, I don't think he is going to rely on the camp factor- he specifically mentions emotion, and I think the Burton will do the raw emotion of Sweeney Todd justice.
"I've always wanted to do a musical and Sweeney Todd is my favorite," said Tim Burton in the release. "Stephen's blend of humor, horror and emotion is something that has always connected with me."

*groans* if only there was someone else sitting in that chair. Life would be perfect. But except for that one minor detail, its a lovely poster.
Creeeeeeeeeepyyyyyy!
