'Sweet Charity' Tour (ADDED: Ringwald Commercial)

Posted: 9/19/06 at 5:34pmI am currently re-creating Bob Fosse's original choreography for SWEET CHARITY and for anyone that thinks that Charity is a non-demanding role then I would love to hear what you think is. I have a friend in the tour so I will be forced to sit through that dreck again. However, the recent "non" revival is nowhere near as demanding as the original in my opinion.

Wait, you finally got a chance to do this?? I remember when Charity was on Broadway last year and you were talking about the choreography and I said I hoped, with all your background in Fosse, that you would get a chance to choregraph the show!
Congratulations! I'm glad you are getting this chance, and glad that you chose to re-create the original, instead of deviating, as Cilento attempted.

wait, wonderboy- first of all congrats on the choegraphy thing, but you said " will be forced to sit through that dreck again"- does that mean you dont like the tour, or the show itself? because if you didnt like the show, then there'd be no reason to choegraph it...
sorry, hope it isnt a stupid question!

Thanks justme2! Yeah, I got offered this gig and I leaped at the opportunity! I am using all original choreography with the exception of "The Rhythm Of Life" I am choreographing that "in the style of Bob Fosse." It's been a challenge to re-create it all and I have been rather tough on the cast but you all know how passionate I am about Mr Fosse's work.
bwayondabrain I was not even remotely fond of the production that was on Broadway last year nor will I care for the tour due to Cilento's atrocious choreography. Fosse's original choreography is brilliant and iconic and cannot be topped. Therefore, sitting through the tour will be painful but it will be good to see my friend in it. I shall drink.... a lot!

Oh, I forgot all about this. I need to see it--but its closest stop to me is a few hundred miles away.
