I just joined TDF last month and yesterday I purchased my first ticket. They have not charged my card for the ticket as of this morning. Is this normal? I am coming into the city tomorrow for 1 night and I purchased a ticket to Memphis for Wednesday manatee. Thanks in advance for your help!

TDF isn't open on the weekends. I beleive that all the stuff gets bundled until Monday morning. It will likely be processed today.

I wouldnt worry, I've never had an issue with TDF purchases and I've used them for YEARS.

Thank you for the information! This is just my mind wondering but what if I were to buy a ticket on Friday night for a Sunday show, would my card not be charged until Monday as well? Just a thought lol

i saw that the membership fees for tdf is $30. Is it worth it for this service? How much of a discount do you really get? any information is greatly appreciated.

Unless things have changed (or I'm totally remembering nonsense), when they close on Friday, it makes purchasing for that weekend impossible.

TDF (for those that qualify) is great.

Off-Off 9bucks
Off b'way 30 bucks
Bw'ay 40 bucks

Of course, it's impossible to know what will be available and you seldom can plan too far ahead. If you use it just once a year, it likely has paid for itself.

Note: you can can purchase multiple tix per membership.

In my experience, it usually takes 2-3 business days for a TDF charge to appear on my credit card, regardless of when I place the order. There have been several times when I bought a ticket the day before (or very early on the day of) a show and my card isn't charged until a day or two after the performance.

Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Thanks for the info everyone!

Nyel I think it is worth the $30 membership fee. I won't be using it a ton maybe like 3-6 shows a year but with the $40 ticket prices for broadway shows IMHO it can not be beat. Even with a discount code or TKTS I have rarely gotten a show that cheap (I remember getting last row for August and Next to Normal for around 40) I have never qualified in the past but now that I'm a union member I jumped all over it!

TDF is possibly the greatest thing I've encountered since I've started regular theatregoing...It pays for itself in one or two tickets, and although the seats vary, they are hardly ever bad seat (My last ticket as Center Orchestra on the aisle for HOW TO SUCCEED).

Is a "Wednesday manatee" any different from the other manatees I've seen in aquariums?

No Dollypop, except that it's usually an old Jewish woman. The younger manatees are best viewed at night after the sun goes down.
