Thanks for keeping score MR--tho I dont feel the "touche" moment of it.
As for EP--there have been quite a few postings on many show threads(esp on ATC) where posters state "Oh I wish I had waited to buy tix--it just got offered on TDF"
And, it just happened within my own family where I told them to wait to buy tix to SS since I was "sure" it would be on TDF. They were afraid, and sure enough the date they wanted is offered.
Now, im actually GLAD they didnt wait! The show will get the needed extra $$$ x 3 tix--and they will likely get better seats than that provided by TDF, or not. And how many posts are there discussing the location of TDF seats? Why discuss it at all? BE glad you get a really discounted tix.
MR, im not saying that people should buy HIGH price tix, but HIGHER price tix--thru the various discount codes. It helps the shows
It's not a question of how many readers take advantage--its simpley about loss of income to a show IF a person is dissuaded to buy a higher priced tix--and yes, people are.
And, how many posts are there where people are asked to be PM'd to get those codes?
The people who get benefits from this thread are ALREADY members! So they are either too busy, or too lazy. Heck, a new HIGH PROFILE play was just added but I found it--and those members can find it too.
Theatre-going is a PRIVILEGE, NOT a right--and TDF does make it possible for many, including me.
The offerings dont need to be aired so publicly.
Yes--the shows certainly want to build word of mouth, and audiences--but your own disparaging adjectives of DESPERATE (e.g.) just demonstrate how opinions are colored about a show's viability.

They are on here every second of every day and if they have nothing to say, which is often, they either engage in some sort of sarcastic blathering warfare about nothing that matters, or they post this sort
of moronic thread, just so they can feel powerful. They can look at their bitchy little reflections and proudly say "I amount to something. I posted a thread today."

It seems pretty clear that you post these dates out of spite so I know my comment will only feed into you doing it more but c'mon....

These posts are stupid. I would argue that most people would agree but don't really care enough to post about it.

Doesn't it feel weird for someone who doesn't go to the theatre to constantly post about tickets to go to the theatre?

I could care less what you think. One of the reasons I have soured on theater is due to people like you. You know it all and want everything to be based on what you feel about something. If you do not like my posts, don't read them

Just to let you know Mid , I just got a PM thanking me for my TDF posts.

Others have thanked me in threads

I only go to shows to please my wife. I got her hooked on theater so she says I owe her to go. I go but no longer have my heart in it.

By the way, I believe you are a swing. I have been hear for about 11 years. I stay here as I know people on both boards. You are just starting out. I have the wounds and scars to earn being here. You can speak when you have been here that long.

Read the thread in order.
After my first post, was your snarky reply (to which I responded as you noted).
But you can feel free to be as bully-like and self-righteous as you want.
And, as Mr. Roxy said, he has received PMs of thanks--that is also how he should disseminate the info--via PMs
I'm not sure if people understand the "business" side at all (and yes, Im a BIT involved that way), and I want the shows to prosper as best they can.

I posted today since your TDF update threads seem to have only started recently--I dont remember seeing daily posts in months past (but that could be from my lack of reading every thread heading)

Mr Roxy, can you tell me the benefits of having a TDF membership? I usually either get my tickets by rushing or going to the tkts booth but never new what the membership is about.

You have to be a member of a specific group. You get the luxury of having dates to choose from without standing in line waiting. You have a ton of shows to choose from. You have Broadway, off, Off Off & concerts

Hopefully that explains it. Musicals run about $ 49 and straight plays $ 39. off is lower & off off is about $9
