Is this a true ensemble piece tho? From reading info online it looks like it is…which makes me wonder if Cheadle while may be the biggest name they have will be paired with some other names

Don Cheadle alone will not be a big draw. If even Captain America and Loki couldn't set the pre-pandemic box office on fire, Cheadle ain't doin' it now.

The two actors you mention have essentially been absorbed into their Marvel character which is why some big names stay away from the franchises. So there is limited fandom for them themselves. The fans of Marvel movies are fans of Captian America and Loki, not Chris Evans and Tom Hiddleston.

I still think Cheadle will sell …Broadway has been doing very well lately so I think any show with a name attached with succeed somewhat

Grey House has Tatiana Maslany in it. Orphan Black and the MCU are two very large fandoms and Grey House isn’t selling well. I don’t know if just because Cheadle is a MCU name people will rush to the theatre to see him. There isn’t a huge overlap between MCU and theatre goers.

Any chance this could be done at the Hayes? I cant see this being more than a limited run and with Second Stage doing the thanksgiving play right now its possible they could do another playwrights.

I understand that but did you read the comments above? They’re talking about Marvel actors and their characters. They’re not mentioning Tom Hiddleston in King Kong, they’re talking about Tom as Loki. Same with Chris Evans. They didn’t mention his Lightyear movie or Knives Out, but Captain America.

It's not intended to be a comedy.
