Having seen both (Button in London and Girl Interrupted last night), I'd put my money on Button transferring.  I don't think Girl Interrupted has a life uptown.

I saw Girl Interrupted last week, and I’d put its transfer chances below those of Goddess (and that hasn’t gone anywhere).

Button has a solid chance of transferring. Like the other commenters, I don't think there's a chance for Girl to transfer, though I think it will have some regional life.

Anyone know if there are plans to extend Curious Case past November 15? I suppose they might be waiting to see how it sells, but I will be in town for the holidays and am hoping to catch it.  Thanks!

I feel like they extend most shows (and both November shows extended into December last year) so I think the odds are pretty good.

I liked Girl Interrupted more than Benjamin Button — it has a commercial producer who commissioned it apparently still attached (Barbara Broccoli) so my sense is that it would only transfer without the Public (like Liberation’s commercial transfer from Roundabout) since they’re clearly aiming for a Button transfer. I think Girl, Interrupted is great, but it’s deliberately depressing and discomforting, and its name recognition is a movie most people haven’t seen, King Princess (who I’d never heard of before), and Aimee Mann’s music which probably won’t move many tourists since she’s not in it. The “play with music” misnomer seems to be a way to appeal to the serious playgoing audience since this won’t be for most casual musical theater fans. All of which is fine — it seems like it’s where it belongs much as it might deserve a bigger audience.
