Ok so I’ve been seeing clips of the new Hunger Games stage show in London and it looks AMAZING!!! If anybody has seen it I simply have to know your thoughts and if this could transfer to New York?

Check out the comments over on TheatreBoard.  To be fair, comments on the show itself (from the first preview) are mixed. 

The venue, however, was not ready. Very much not ready. 

It's early - and maybe everything will get straightened out as they go through three weeks of previews - or maybe the preview period will extend.

It looks like it would be cool, but this also looks more like a Vegas style show than a New York style show, or maybe an arena tour.

The theater was built for this specific show. I can’t Imagine it transfers anywhere.

My gut feeling is that The Hunger Games would do great on the New York stage; the stakes, the spectacle, the emotional highs - the Broadway audience would love it. Seems like classic preview chaos. Mixed reactions are expected, but an unprepared venue is rough. Hopefully, they fix things fast before word spreads further!

The show already had its opening night and is presumed to be frozen. Unless the show makes changes for an NY transfer(I doubt it) don’t expect it to be any different from what reviews are saying.
