THE LYONS to close on July 1

Ehhh. But it was nice to see Lavin on stage again...

I really enjoyed it, but I'm not surprised, it never really had 'long run' written all over it. Great to see Lavin and Latessa and though I haven't been since he left, I can't imagine there wouldn't be a big Esper shaped hole left.

Did anyone see Nicky Silver's sweet message on Facebook?
“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” ``oscar wilde``

Why "too bad?" Every play closes sometime. They were lucky to get a Broadway transfer, I'd say, and I enjoyed it. But I certainly wouldn't expect it to run a year...

I really enjoyed this, but I'm not surprised.

Too bad, it was a nice production. But I agree with peachesr82, I don't think anyone ever expected it to run for too long.

Enjoyed it as well. Agree with everyone else about run length.

I really love this play, and think it's one of the funniest thing I've ever seen in a long time, but I went for one last time the other night and found Kate Jennings Grant absolutely God awful. She overreached and overacted the whole time. Has she always been like this? I didn't notice it the other time I went, maybe because I was caught up in the brilliance of Lavin and Nicky Silver.

The rest of the cast were all quite wonderful, and of course, Lavin is supreme.

Do you not understand English, willep? I thought it was funny. It was a black comedy. Was I not supposed to laugh?

What a shame. It was a very nice production. I saw it twice and loved it both times. But, as some others said, it really never was expected to be the longest running show on Broadway.

Here, I'll break it down for you, jv: something can either be one of the funniest thing (sic) you have ever seen, OR it can be one of the funniest thing (sic) you've seen in a long time. But it can't be both.
