I could very easily see Victoria, Norbert, Dan and Sara winning in each of their categories giving acting acknowledgement to all four of the nominated best musicals, but this scenario would probably be unfortunate for Spamalot which is such a guy heavy show. I havent seen DRS or BEE so Im just throwing out a hypothesis, not personal favorites.
I know we talked about this yesterday Mistress, it is curious that the favorites for acting work out this way. I think that they would be favorites in their own right, and it is funnily coincedental that the favorites happen to come from each of the four nominated musicals.

I think most people have to admit that La Cage will win the Revival musical tony b/c there just haven't been any good revivals (no offense w/ pacific and charity fans)
Also I want Sherie to win for Best actress, but I think Clark may win it...

My predictions are the same as wickedrentq except that I think Piazza will get best scenic design.
This is the first year since 1997 that there is no clear-cut winner. Everyone seems to be predicting something different! I would like to see a serious musical (PIAZZA) win the top award this season since the past few years the emphasis has been on light-hearted musical comedies. We need a little more balance. Besides SPAMALOT and DRS seem set for long healthy runs regardless and it appears BEE is doing quite well with or without the Tonys. (I am not saying this will happen but that I wish it would.)
But what do I know. Last year I kept hoping AVE Q would win Best Musical and it did. The year before I was hoping for HAIRSPRAY but then so was most everyone else. Then again, I hoped for URINTOWN in 2002 and RAGTIME in 1998 and was disappointed. You Never Can Tell (to borrow a title from Shaw.)
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

I'd bet my car on Norbert and Billy Crystal's show to win. Those are the only "no competition" categories this year. Or at least it seems that way to me.
