Damn! This was GREAT. What a joy. I'd put off seeing it while I was trying to see as many other new shows as possible, but so glad I finally did. Last night, also a Thursday night, appeared to a full and enthusiastic house. The Prom is the sleeper gem of the season, as far as I'm concerned.
Not making any predictions; never do. I had a great time at Tootsie and am seeing Hadestown this weekend, along with two more plays. Every new musical I've seen since Pretty Woman beats the heck out of it, but I've missed Ain't Too Proud, Be More Chill, Bettlejuice, Cher and King Kong, I'd like to see Ain't Too Proud; not terribly inclined to see the others given the limits on my time imposed by living three hours away.
